Since losing its fixed service site, in 2022, for hot soup, porridge and a bag lunch, the Nanaimo 7-10 Club has been on the road.
Not only have we provided a six item bag meal; juice, sandwich, yogurt, granolla bar, fruit pouch n snack; we have also contracted to provide warming, cooling and extreme weather locations.
In 2023, while continuing our bag meals, the 7-10 was contracted by tge City to hand out a hot breakfast made by the Salvation Army 7 days per week. When that contract ran out the S/A continued to make a hot meal and the 7-10 continued to distribute on our own dimes.
While doing this the 7-10 Club has also distributed food and snack donations to other services in need.
Except when contracted by the City or BC Housing to provide Shelter thec7-10 Club is strictly a VOLUNTEER RUN AND OPERATED non-profit dependant on donations.
Google the attached; services across Canada are helping to provide sustenance to those in need; a need which is growing.

The Nanaimo 7-10 Club Society has been in operation since 1985 and currently feeds those in need in the community approx. 125,000 meals per year.
Inclusive of the Pandemic and having to leave our former location of 14 years in August of 2021 the 7-10 Club has shown the capacity to adapt and not miss a day of service.
We help thousands of unique individuals yearly, many regularly, inclusive of Veterans, Students, First Nations, People with Disabilities, Seniors, the Homeless. We FEED ANYONE IN NEED, Regardless of Race, Gender Age and Disability,
Currently, 6:30am -8:00am Mon - Fri, we lease space at Island Crisis Care Society's RISING HOPE COMMUNITY KITCHEN utilizing their certified kitchen space for the preparation of an enhanced bag meal; the equivalent of two servings, which are then distributed to a several locations as well as through outreach in the community.
In addition to the bagged meals we also distribute donations of Starbucks Sandwiches and Snacks as well as donations from Save On Foods, Tim Hortons, Shoppers Drug Mart, KFC and others through Second Harvest such as the Nanaimo Convention Centre.
From 2022 to March 2026 the 7-10 Club, at no cost, distributed hot breakfast meals prepared by the Salvation Army through outreach to those in need.
Current community partners, and beneficiaries, include; City of Nanaimo, BC Housing, United Way, Nanaimo Area Resource Services (NARSF) Outreach, CMHA Outreach. Hub Outreach, RiseBridge Drop In, NFLA Unitarian Shelter(s) and Shower Program, Selby St. Mission, Pacifica Housing, Salvation Army, On Eagles Wings, United Way, Island Mental Health Society, John Barsby Youth program, Snuneymux First Nation, Nanaimo Convention Centre and others.
Since 2019 the 7-10 Club has also, on short notice, operated Extreme, Cold & Warm, drop in services at various locations, Many at the request and funded through the City of Nanaimo.
Since Winter 2023 we have also been partnering, with BC Housing to operate an Extreme Weather Shelter.
We continue to expand our endeavours and adapt as need dictates. Our search for a location from which we could provide a sit down meal as well as partner to provide other services during the day continues as well.
