I warmed up for 30 minutes…

…and then played like I’d never held a paddle before.

Apparently the warm-up and the actual game were two completely separate activities. 😅

🏓 the paddle

…and definitely not myself.

Some days, apparently, the only thing not responsible for the mistake is the person holding the paddle. 😅

I’ve called “MINE!”

…and immediately wished I hadn’t. 😅

The problem is, once you’ve called it, your partner has usually already backed off.

When I first started playing Pickleball, this one was a tough one for me, I came from a Badminton Background and I would constantly volley in the kitchen.

Selective hearing is alive and well at the kitchen line. 😂🏓

“Stay OUT of the kitchen.”

Somehow that becomes:

“Stay IN the kitchen.”

The rules make sense eventually… mostly.

Pickleball weather logic:

☔ Court’s wet.
🦈 “But… how wet?”

If you play pickleball long enough, apparently “bad weather” becomes a very flexible term. 😂

The shark would like to admit something…
Shouted ‘YOURS!’… after realizing they couldn’t reach it.
And apparently my response is:
“That was never mine.”

It’s funny because most doubles players have probably done some version of this.
Communication matters, but ideally before the ball has already gone past you. 😄

A clear early call can help your partner react, move and commit to the ball without hesitation.
