81-Year-Old Ginette Hatin Set To Become First Woman Ever Inducted To 80+ Hockey Hall of Fame

In a milestone shattering barriers in senior hockey, 81-year-old Ginette Hatin of La Prairie, Quebec, is poised to etch her name in history as the first woman inducted into the 80+ Hockey Hall of Fame, honoring both the Canadian and USA chapters. The trailblazing forward, a fixture on the ice for over six decades since lacing up at age 15 in the 1950s, will receive her USA enshrinement on October 4 in Denver, Colorado, followed by Canada's ceremony on October 25 in Gatineau, Quebec. Dubbed the "1st Iron-Lady of Hockey" for her unyielding grit, Hatin has embodied the sport's spirit through recreational leagues, inspiring generations with her puck-handling prowess and resilience amid an era when women rarely donned skates. "Hockey's been my heartbeat," Hatin shared, crediting the Hall for recognizing octogenarian athletes who keep the game alive. This dual induction not only celebrates her longevity but spotlights the growing inclusivity in senior play, where over 100 legends like Terry Harper and Ken McKinnon share the roster, proving age is no match for passion on the frozen pond. #

Nail bitter of a game... first 10 minutes of the game it could have one either way... the Adancas scored first but Crush came back with two quick goals and took the momentum forward for a win of 5 to 1.

55+ BC Games Day 2 is on the way...

Zone 3 55+ won their opening game today and the Zone 3 60+ team Crushed their opponent 6-1. Crush started with an early lead, but the Boomber Babes did not give up and started a come back with added pressure on our defense. Mid way through the 2nd period the Crush regained their momentum and finished strong.

The game sat at 3-1 for what seemed for-ever. 55+ BC Games

Day #2 - Win 6 to 1 vs Boomber Babes. The Island held their own, pushed our Crush team to its limits, and even started a come back... in the end Zone 3 Crushed the final period and won.

Good Job Zone 3
