Well Gabriola it was a slice! We gave away 95% of the gear we took over with us including the bonus gear we got. We were steady with people all day teaching them how to cast in the field. You'd think that these folk had been fishing for years the way they were casting after one quick demo. Icing on the cake was driving right onto the ferry. Many many thanks Gabriola we look forward to coming back over again soon. Silva Bay Resort & Marina

Just a few rods to hand out tomorrow at the Intro to casting class over on Gabriola during the Silva bay fishing derby. Loaded the tackle boxes full of goodies to keep them amused for a while, going to be a ton of fun. I always enjoy passing along the skills to people even if I am drained at the end of it. Where is a good place for some grub on Gabriola after we hand out all this gear?

Just a reminder that we reserve the right to limit the amount of fishing gear one family can get so that we can help get as many people out on the water as possible. As always fishing gear will be handed out 100% free of charge (donations are always welcome but never expected)

What are your plans for this Sunday Sept 6th? We are going over to Gabriola for the Silva Bay Fishing Derby. We will be at the marina doing a intro to casting class from 11am to 3pm. We will also have limited numbers of fishing gear to hand out 100% free of charge to local families. We would love to see you all out there supporting a great derby so I can live vicariously through all of you.

The only pics from today's fishing adventure to Campbell River. We (Frank and I) left Nanaimo at 4am got to the river at 530. People were fishing with headlamps. To say today an absolute blast would be an understatement. We landed over 100 fish (90% mouth hooked) between us. We kept our 4 pinks each so the smokers gonna be busy for a while. Thanks again for the invite

Some exciting news for this upcoming fall!

Oct 18th to 25th the city of Nanaimo is hosting the Fall Fishing Challenge. What is the fall fishing challenge you ask... Fish any of the local stocked lakes in Nanaimo (green, Brannen, long, divers, Westwood, Colliery, Shelton) and take a photo of your catch and send it off. (I will get the email address for photos at a later date) They have some pretty awesome prizes up for grabs.

Not to be outdone by the fall fishing challenge we will be partnering with our friends from Go Fish BC to offer a live bucket brigade style trout release Oct 26th at Colliery Dam. Trout will arrive at 12 noon for release. Come on out this will happen rain or shine. Hope to see you all out there!!
