Biggest Chinook of the year goes to Jane caught August 27th off Entrance Island in Nanaimo! This incredible 39” Chinook put up an unforgettable fight.
Biggest Lingcod goes to Jaci, reeling in an absolute giant at 46” and over 30 lb!
Congrats to both anglers on landing these beauties and claiming the AWC Big Fish Title Belt for 2025!

Jane hooked into a big Chinook off Entrance Island! After an intense 10-minute battle—gaining back 400 ft of mono and surviving multiple screaming runs—the beast finally slipped into our catch & release net. A quick measurement and photo, then she was revived and sent back to the depths to make more monsters!

90 cm!!! Jane currently holds the AWCA big fish belt & bragging rights for the biggest Chinook of the 2025 season!

August 25 – French Creek, BC

A beautiful afternoon on the water! Non-stop action with Pinks, Coho, and a few Chinook mixed in. This gorgeous hatchery Chinook taped out at 85 cm — just over the size limit for now, but starting September 1st there’ll Gibbs Fishing The Harbour Chandler have some prime September dates available, send a messages or give me a call!

Beautiful August evening with our repeat clients! On the way out to Entrance we were treated to a pod of playful orcas, and the action didn’t stop there—countless salmon battles with Chinook, Coho, and Pinks, finished off with a full limit of Lingcod! Not enough hands on deck to hold up all the fish!

Fishing really is one of the best parts of life.
Whether it’s picking your favourite lure, choosing that go-to spot, or sharing the water with family, friends, or clients — it’s all part of the experience.

We wrapped up a BBQ on the boat, just finishing hot dogs and burgers, when my Highliner mooching rod popped off the clip and bent right over!
After some wild runs on the TR3, we brought this massive Lingcod to the boat.

The moment I saw it, I knew I wasn’t putting my gaff in this one — so I grabbed the catch-and-release net and scooped her up. Quick pic, and back she went to make more monsters.

Unreal evening. Perfect combo: BBQ and bent rods.
