For some unknown reason Island Arrowsmith has two pages...I cant seem to fix this so Im going to post on both pages until someone chases me off of one of them...

Feathers for your ammunition is always a complicated guessing game given the various design shapes, sizes and colour combinations. I've always been drawn to barred feathers but could never justify the price difference..especially with our dollars health these days. I figured out a way to create that same look using standard coloured fletching.
Its amazing what you can create with a few popsicle sticks, some imagination and a band saw. I taped a bundle of sticks together and started cutting grooves in the stack on the band saw. I glued the cut sticks to a larger piece and used this as a template to create the barred effect. The new compressor and airbrush made the task of painting a breeze. I used dollar store acrylic paint thinned to spray with the new airbrush. All said...I really gotta get out more...but NOT right now.....

Ive put together some pictures of the fancy ammunition I've been building here..,.never seem to run out of new ideas but I'm glad my wife has a good eye for colour..Im getting these read for the North American Longbow Safari shoot in July...

I posted this two years ago and still havent been able figure out how to fix the problem, I have deleted one page and will continue working with this one. HOPE IT WORKS..

Ok seahawk fans..the new season is upon us. Just in case you missed the old post I'll do it again. Our ammunition can be made up in any number of colours and styles but these have to be two of my favourite groups. It helps if you are a true hawks fan..as you can see by my man cave "rest room"...my good lady spoiled me with the last one!! GO HAWKS,,,,

If your looking for a simple backstop for your archery target give this a try. My grandkids and the rest of the/us old farts had a great time shooting at a 10 dollar bale of peat moss from canadian tire. If you tape a balloon or two to it its an afternoon of fun. The beauty of it is the kids can pull there own arrows without any adult assistance. Their arrows didnt even need field tips..a pencil sharpener made a great point and went in just fine...Oh..by the way we have some new colours to add to our wraps and we are cutting them for the carbon shooters now as well...at under $8 bucks a bakers dozen it makes " pretty" easier...

If anyone is in love with making arrows out of port orford cedar north of the 49th you might want to talk to your bank first. A local
wholesale outlet has some beauties in stock and only $69.95 a dozen. Given that most of the parts...actually ALL of the parts... used to make wood arrows comes from the USA (except my wood of course!!) your ammunition is very valuable and you should be very gentle with it. besides their to pretty to break...
