Ski touring basecamps are a long time favorite! The remoteness, solitude, exclusive terrain, camaraderie, are all strong contributing factors. There are literally thousands of remote places where this is possible in Western Canada. These images showcase our most recent basecamp that took place in a secluded corner of Northwest British Columbia. We met in Atlin and chartered a helicopter to take our long time guests for a new adventure on the Juneau icecap. From a well located basecamp location we explored rarely visited wilderness on skis for a full week. We ascended large broken glaciers, climbed unknown peaks, enjoyed some very long alpine descents, and returned to a rustic basecamp for a night under the stars. It is not unusual for us to create such an adventurous trip in areas we have never been before. We feel very lucky that our guests trust that we can provide a positive and productive adventure in such circumstances. Enjoy the selection of photos and let us know if you would like to experience this type of ski touring adventure π

Some recent photos from another successful Yukon trip! We travelled through Southwest Yukon and skied areas like White pass, Haines pass, and Haines Junction as well. The landscape scale is hard to grasp here, everything is super size! So many fantastic ski touring venues and very little traffic. It's already on our calendar for winter 2027, let us know if you would like to join ππ₯π

We recently returned from a great ski touring trip to Arctic Norway π§π» Despite unusually warm conditions, we had a really good trip and some fantastic ski days. We had to execute a trip relocation because the area we were intending to go to "Lofoten" was unusually warm and lacked snow at lower elevation. Additionally, it was raining hard and the forecast wasn't favorable. So after a few fantastic days of sightseeing in Lofoten, we relocated to the Lyngen alps some 5 hours drive to the Northeast. We based ourselves in the Lyngenfjord region where temperatures and conditions were remarkably better. It was a challenging endeavor to relocate logistically but worth every effort. Thanks to a fun and willing crew! We had a memorable trip π

Backcountry Basecamp season has arrived! We recently hosted a few local ski touring basecamp and were pleasantly reminded of their uniqueness. The connection with nature and the land on these trips is particularly strong which in turn generates a heightened sense of appreciation and accomplishment. It's really hard to describe those feelings, you have to be there to experience them. We have a few more basecamps in store this spring, some of them in very remote areas, stay tuned to find out. In the meantime, enjoy a fantastic spring season ππ₯π
