Go north. There’s more to ski!

Following the opening of a new zone in the Thomlinson Range, Skeena’s skiable terrain has expanded by approximately 40%!

Across nine ski zones and more than 90 runs, the terrain stretches from alpine bowls above Base Camp to sheltered tree skiing, with options across all aspects between 1,300 and 1,950 metres.

More terrain gives our guides more options, and our guests more opportunities to explore fresh lines and experience parts of the mountain few people have skied before.

This past season, we were pleased to host Avalanche Canada at Skeena after they reached out to learn more about our forecasting program, snowpack observations, and extensive field data.

Our location sits in a unique transitional snow climate, influenced by both Pacific storms and continental weather patterns, creating a complex and dynamic snowpack. During their visit, they were impressed by the depth of our data, the strength of our forecasting program, and evidence of widespread natural avalanche activity that remained visible days after the cycle.

Beyond the data, it was a great opportunity to share knowledge, spend time in the mountains together, and give them a firsthand look at how our experienced team uses that information to provide safe, exciting skiing across a wide variety of terrain.

More turns. Same quiet touring day.

Cat-assisted ski touring at Skeena keeps the focus on moving through the mountains under your own power — with a little help from the snowcat along the way.

Start the day with a drop-off at a high peak or ridge, spend the day touring, then finish with two cat rides on the return to BaseCamp, adding approximately 3,000–4,000 vertical feet of downhill skiing each day.

Our winter touring date is almost sold out, but spring dates are still available.

Late March brings longer days in Northern BC and an incredible window to experience Skeena on skis.
