Slide in, sweep hard, and be part of our community!
Curling is a sport that doesn't require a lot of expensive equipment. Here's what you'll need to start:

Warm and comfortable clothing. Special curling clothing can be purchased but many curlers wear track suits, sweaters, etc. It's good to have layers so you can adjust as needed. Curling shoes can also be purchased but for new curlers you can start with a clean pair of running shoes (reserved only for curling so you don't bring any dirt onto the ice surface). We put clear tape on your slider foot. We also have slip-on sliders that you can use instead of tape or you can purchase your own slider. Loaner brooms or brushes are available at the club for new curlers. Most curlers purchase their own brush during their first season. Most curlers wear gloves to keep their hands warm and to provide protection when sweeping.

Today, we’re celebrating one of our very own, Geoff Wood, editor of The Bonspieler — the magazine dedicated to the legendary Quebec International Bonspiel!

This incredible six-day event takes place every January and brings together curlers for a truly special bonspiel experience.

🧊 10-Second Safety Tip: Stepping Onto the Ice! ⚠️

✅ Gripper foot first — slider foot stays off the ice until you’re safely on!

✅ Use your broom or stabilizer for balance.

✅ Never step over rocks or objects.

👟 10-Second Club Tip: Indoor vs. Outdoor Shoes!

🚫 Keep outdoor shoes in the front vestibule.
👟 Change into indoor shoes before entering the club or head downstairs to change into your curling shoes.

🧹 Less dirt on the carpets means less debris on the ice and fewer picks!

Clean shoes = Clean ice! 🥌

🥌 10-Second Curling Tip: How to Hold a Rock!

* ✋ Grip the handle loosely across the middle of your fingers, not the palm.
* 🤏 Keep your grip relaxed, not tight!
* 🕑 Turn to 2 o’clock for counterclockwise rotation.
* 🕙 Turn to 10 o’clock for clockwise rotation.

Small adjustments make a big difference! 🥌
