Feeling blessed that my business has now made it's way out East and will now be supporting Dogs, Horses and People in the Maritimes as well as continuing to offer sessions in Ontario with Maddy and Jodi.

This last year has made for so much change and I can't wait to see what is ahead for our team at Balanced Bodyworks.

I am looking forward to the opportunity to support all the dogs at the CAANS Atlantic Trial this upcoming weekend! (May 30-31)

See you all there!

A reminder to all our Ontario Canine clients heading to Details for the UKI trial tomorrow, Maddy will be there offering sessions for dogs and people. There will be limited spots available so book ahead if possible by emailing [email protected].

Most of you have had the chance to meet Maddy at some of the trials last year, but if you didn't, don't hesitate to stop by and say hi! While Sarah will be cheering you all on from Nova Scotia, you will be in excellent hands with Maddy as she is proving to be an excellent practitioner and only continues to grow and develop her skills and add so much to our team at Balanced Bodyworks.

Good luck to all the competitors tomorrow!

We are so excited to announce that beginning June 1, 2026, Balanced Bodyworks will officially be offering Distance Healing Sessions for animals.

As our business continues to grow, we are incredibly grateful to now be able to support animals both near and far. These sessions will allow us to work with clients outside of our current travel areas, help better accommodate scheduling needs, and provide support for animals we may not physically be able to get to within the needed timeframe.

Distance sessions can be especially beneficial for animals who are stressed, fearful, anxious, reactive, sensitive to new people, or unable to comfortably tolerate physical touch or hands-on sessions. They are also a wonderful option for animals dealing with mobility limitations, transportation challenges, recovery periods, or environments where travel may create additional stress.

Sessions are completed remotely while your animal remains in the comfort and familiarity of their own space. For the best experience and full benefits of the session, we recommend scheduling a time when your animal can relax in a quiet, calm, and uninterrupted environment.

We are incredibly excited for this next chapter and the opportunity to help support even more animals and their people across wider areas than ever before.

Additional new offerings will also be launching over the next few months, so be sure to follow us to stay informed on upcoming services, announcements, and booking opportunities.

Distance Healing Session bookings officially open June 1, 2026.

This past Friday reminded me so deeply why I love this work.

The morning started with pure magic… arriving at my first client’s farm and spotting a bear for the very first time in my life. He came running in our direction, through the paddock, up the driveway. At one point only about 30 feet away from us. Equal parts awe, excitement, and respect for the moment.

Then came another reminder that animals always deserve to have a voice.

The pony I was there to work on wanted absolutely nothing to do with bodywork that day. So instead of forcing it, we pivoted. We headed inside (very cautiously, because we still weren’t quite sure where the bear had gone 😅) and spent time with the sweetest Bernese Mountain Dog for her very first session. She started off excited and unsure, but slowly melted into the work, settling more and more as the session went on.

Later, after another attempt with the pony and a beautiful Reiki session gifted to me by my lovely client, I headed to another wonderful farm where I met a new client and worked with a very sweet horse.

But the part that stayed with me most was returning for a third attempt with that pony.

This time he stood quietly with his owner, haltered and open to connection. He welcomed the pets and attention… but the hands-on bodywork was still a very clear “no.” So we listened.

Instead, I gave him space and offered hands-off energy work- something I don’t often share publicly, but something that can be incredibly powerful when animals ask for it in their own way.

And that’s the thing about this work:
It’s never about forcing.
It’s about listening.
Honouring.
Adjusting.
Meeting animals exactly where they are that day.

Sometimes the biggest breakthroughs come when we stop trying to make them fit our plan and simply allow them to guide the session themselves.

Happy Friday from the Balanced Bodyworks crew!

Your reminder heading into the weekend:

A tired dog isn’t always a relaxed dog. Sometimes they need rest, decompression, gentle movement, and support for their body too. 💛

Whether your pup is an athlete, a senior, anxious, or just loves living life full speed, bodywork can help them feel their best from nose to tail.

Visit www.balancedbodyworks.com for more info.

Here’s to slow walks, muddy paws, couch cuddles, and happy healthy dogs this weekend.
