The BGC Niagara is part of a National movement with over 700 community locations throughout Canada. Together the movement provides innovative and effective programs to assist in the healthy educational, social and physical development of Canadian children and youth. For over 100 years, professionally trained staff and dedicated community volunteers have helped hundreds of thousands of children and youth in safe supportive environments. The BGC model is more comprehensive than prevention, recreation or educational programs alone. The Club utilizes a developmental approach in every program focusing on increasing a young person's exposure to positive and constructive activities, supporting them to become healthy, responsible, compassionate and competent. The development approach offers children what research says is the most needed, relationships with positive role models (adults and peers), structure and safety, access to a diverse range of programs that include recreation, play and expression, opportunity for acquiring positive behaviours, self-esteem and hope for the future.

Looking for a new activity to get your child moving this fall? BGC Niagara, in partnership with St.Catharines Brazilian Jiujitsu, is bringing Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to the Queen Elizabeth Centre in St. Catharines!

Designed for beginners, this welcoming program gives kids the chance to learn the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu while building confidence, coordination, discipline and fitness,all in a positive and supportive environment. 💪

🥷 Little Ninjas | Ages 5–7
Sundays | 11:00–11:30 a.m.

🥋 Kids BJJ | Ages 8–12
Sundays | 11:30 a.m.–12:15 p.m.

📅 September 27 – December 13, 2026
10 weeks | No classes October 11 & November 8

A valid BGC Niagara child/youth membership is required.

For youth ages 10–12, Tween Zone is a dedicated space to hang out with friends, try new activities, build confidence, and have fun, all with BGC Niagara staff there to support you.

🍽️ Includes a meal through Supper Club

A bingo proceeds cheque is presented by Don Graham, chairperson of the Stamford Kiwanis bingo committee, and his daughter Lori, to Niagara. The $4,500 amount represents the profits from the Fort Erie bingo route from January to end of June.

Please note that Open Swim from 9:00–10:00 AM at our EJ Freeland Community Centre BGC Niagara location in Fort Erie will be cancelled on Friday, September 11 due to a private pool rental.
