BC Summer Swimming Association (BCSSA) ALL FOUR SPORTS, ONE GREAT CLUB!

Cruisers Aquatics is a speed swimming, water polo, artistic swimming and diving club located on the North Shore. Competitions and tournaments are in the summer, but we practice year-round. We currently have about 150 boys and girls in our club, with athletes ranging from 4 to 18 years of age. We practice at various North Vancouver recCenter pools, including William Griffin, Ron Andrews, and Harry Jerome. Membership is open to swimmers of all skill levels and abilities.

A photo full of Cruisers history!

Pictured are some of the coaches who helped shaped our club and mentored athletes and coaches including many of our current coaching team. Their leadership, passion and dedication continue to influence the cruises community today.

And yes, the creator of the legendary “Curtis Grind” is in the photo too.

Thank you to all the past and present coaches for the lasting impact you’ve made on our club.

🌸🌸 Happy Mother’s Day to our swim moms past and present. Thank you for all you do to look after your swimmers - 5:30am wake up calls, meals you prepare for the car between practices, absorbing grocery bills that double in May, catching tears after DQs, managing pre-race nerves, filling coolers with good nutrition for full weekend swim meets, giving up your family time all summer long to hang out with your Cruisers family - and so so much more that would be impossible to name. We are grateful for you.

Hi everyone! My name is Valery and this will be my third season coaching artistic swimming! I’m so excited to meeting you all!

Two truths and a lie:

3. I play the piano
Can you spot the lie?

Introducing Coach Lukas!

Hi Everyone! My name is Lukas, I’ve been coaching with Cruisers since 2018 and I’m super excited to be returning this summer as one of the head coaches of Speed. These last few seasons have been a blast and I can’t wait to see what all our swimmers can accomplish in and out of the pool this year. When I’m not on the pool deck I’m usually out skiing or doing science stuff (ask me about it sometime). Come say hi if you see me on deck!

Two truths and a lie:
1. I have seen an avalanche up close
2. My dream job is to be one of those guys that hangs off the roof and washes windows on the skyscrapers downtown
3. Coach Miles is closer in age to his G1 swimmers than he is to me 🦕
Can you spot the lie?

Introducing Coach Josh!

Hello Everyone, I’m Coach Josh. This is my 13th year with Cruisers and 7th year as a Speed Coach. Cruisers has been a special place for me growing up and I hope I can make it an equally fun and memorable place for everyone this Summer.

Here are two truths and a lie about me:
1. I have taken a 26 hour ferry
2. I have climbed Mount Fuji
3. I have eaten Pufferfish
Which one isn’t true?

Introducing Coach Ben!

Hi! I’m Ben a new diving coach for cruisers. I’ve been swimming for cruisers since I was 9 years old, and love the water. I also enjoy mountain biking, skiing and hanging out with friends.

Two truths and a lie:
1. I’ve been backcountry camping with my friends
2. I’ve eaten an octopus before
3. I love going to the rink to play hockey
Which one do you think is the lie?
