Energy Tip! How do we get more energy or sustain energy throughout the day?

Well for starters, there are so many factors that contribute to our energy levels including hormones, sleep, stress, health conditions such as a slow thyroid, vitamin or mineral deficiency including iron, gut health, and nutrition habits.

Today, for simplicity, we will focus on how you can have better energy with a few tweaks to your nutrition habits.

Here are the top tips around eating and nutrition habits to increase and sustain energy throughout the day:

1. Eat regularly enough, every 3-4 hours, so your blood sugar levels don't drop. There's nothing that brings on fatigue, lack of focus, and the hangry mood than low sugar levels.

2. Gut Health - Your health and sluggish feeling or zest for life starts in your gut with healthy bacteria from probiotics found in foods such as yogurt, sauerkraut, kefir, miso and Kombucha. Apple Cider vinegar can be good for our gut and has microbial properties

3. Having protein at every meal will not only give you a feeling of fullness limiting cravings, but protein will also level out blood sugars so you avoid dips in energy levels. H**p hearts are fabulous way to start the day with as they are a great source of protein and healthy fats.

4. Healthy Fats that come from seeds, nuts, oils such as MCT oil, avocados and Omega rich fish sources also stabilize blood sugars which helps us to sustain our energy and it is fuel and focus for the brain!

5. Supplements and adaptogens for energy to sustain you through the day and all the activities you do! First off a few supplements you could have tested by your doctor if you have a lot of fatigue are iron and B vitamins. If you are not low, just eat a healthy diet of foods that have iron and B vitamins.

Adaptogens such as Rhodiola, Ashwaganda, Chaga and other mushroom sources, as well as cocao act as a support system to optimize or boost our energy levels doing so naturally.

There are a few top tips you could implement with ease into your daily eating habits! Start with one, do it consistently and then gradually add in another one you may need.
