For trial classes, our OCTA schools provide loaner uniforms, so you don’t need to buy a gi before your first class.

Our team will let you know what you need to bring and help make sure you’re ready to step onto the mats.

And that’s completely okay.

No one walks into their first class already knowing the positions, the names of the techniques, or what to do during training.

You’ll watch, learn the first movements, and slowly start to understand Jiu-Jitsu.

Your instructor knows you’re a beginner. And everyone else in class had a first day too.

You don’t need to know how to fight before you start. You just need to show up ready to learn.

At OCTA, our program is designed with beginners in mind, and all of our schools offer dedicated beginner classes so you can learn the fundamentals, progress at your own pace, and build confidence on the mats from day one.

If you’ve never trained Jiu-Jitsu before, you might be wondering what you’re supposed to wear to your first class.

The good news is, you don’t need to worry about buying a gi before you even know if Jiu-Jitsu is for you.

For trial classes, OCTA provides loaner uniforms, so you’ll have what you need to step onto the mats and experience your first class.

Just come in comfortable athletic clothing, and our team will guide you through everything you need to know before training.

We also recommend removing earrings, necklaces, rings, and other accessories before class so you can train comfortably and safely.

Your first Jiu-Jitsu experience should be simple. Show up, meet the team, and enjoy your first time on the mats.

Learning how to defend yourself doesn’t mean living in fear. It means feeling more prepared.

In Jiu-Jitsu, women learn techniques that develop control, movement, body awareness, and ways to respond in different physical situations.

And there’s an important difference between watching a technique and actually practicing it.

On the mats, you repeat movements, train with other people, and begin to understand how your body can respond under pressure and resistance.
