🏋️ SINGLE-ARM DUMBBELL SN**CH FORM CHECK 🏋️

The dumbbell sn**ch is a full-body power movement. The goal isn’t to lift the weight overhead with your arm, it’s to transfer power from your legs and hips into the dumbbell.

✅ Drive explosively through the hips
✅ Keep the dumbbell close to your body
✅ Finish tall before the pull
✅ Punch straight overhead into a stable lockout
✅ Control the weight back to the start position

❌ Swinging the dumbbell out in front of you
❌ Curling or pulling with the arm too early
❌ Turning it into a shoulder/front raise
❌ Skipping hip extension and relying on the upper body

Think: hips first, arm second.

The more power you create from the hips, the lighter the dumbbell feels overhead and the more efficient the movement becomes.

🚨 SkiErg Form Check 🚨

The difference between working harder and working smarter often comes down to technique.

✅ LEFT SIDE:
• Hinge at the hips with a slight bend in the knees
• Initiate the pull by engaging the lats and driving the elbows down
• Reach tall at the top to maximize stroke length and power output
• Finish with the handles driving toward the pockets/hips
• Maintain a strong, neutral spine throughout the movement

❌ RIGHT SIDE:
• Excessive knee bend turns the movement into more of a squat than a hip hinge
• Shortened reach at the top limits power generation
• Pulling the handles to the knees reduces force production
• Over-reliance on straight arms instead of using the lats and hips
• Loss of rhythm and efficiency with each stroke

The SkiErg isn’t just an upper-body exercise. The most powerful strokes come from transferring force through the entire kinetic chain, from the hips and core through the lats and arms. Efficiency over intensity! 💪
