Let me paint a picture for you. You walk into IDK Social Bar on Ossington in Toronto tomorrow night.
The DJ is already deep into it. The energy hits you the second you walk through the door and you can't quite place why it feels different.
Then you realise. Nobody's on their phone. Not one person.
You put yours in your pocket. Not because anyone told you to. Because there's genuinely nothing worth looking down at.
At some point in the night someone you had a fun conversation with slides a sticky note across the bar toward you.
There's a number on it.
Three words.
And a name.
That doesn't happen on Hinge.
That doesn't happen at a bar where everyone's half-present.
It happens when someone was actually paying attention.
Tomorrow night. IDK Social Bar on Ossington in Toronto. 8pm.

Tomorrow night is Airplane Mode Volume Two. I'm not going to oversell it.
It's a room of real people in Toronto who decided a Thursday night was worth showing up for.
No phones. 6 House DJs. Old school house party games. Sharpies and sticky notes.
No algorithm deciding who you talk to. No profile. No swiping. No talking stage.
Just a room with real people who've chosen presence, eye contact and REAL connection.
If any of the posts I've been writing this week hit something in you this is the one.
Come find out if the room feels the way I said it would.

I know what you're thinking about Airplane Mode Volume Two... Thursday night though?
Yes. Thursday.
Here's the truth about Thursday nights in Toronto that nobody talks about.
There's a specific kind of person who goes out on a Thursday.
Not because it's the obvious night. Not because everyone else is doing it.
Because they saw something worth showing up for and they decided to show up for it.
That decision โ that small, deliberate act of agency โ changes who's in the room.
In my experience, Thursday rooms have a completely different energy than Saturday rooms.
On Saturday people are out because it's Saturday.
On Thursday people are out because they chose to be.
That distinction sounds small. It is not small.
We're a couple days out. $20 tickets. We got a BOGO deal for you and your .

Airplane Mode Volume One was EPIC on March 6th. So we're running it back this Thursday, March 26th. Toronto is a city of millions, yet 40% of us report feeling socially isolated. We go out to "connect" but often spend the night staring at a 6-inch screen. This Thursday, weโre putting our phones away again for Volume Two to connect & dance like we did in the early 2000s before technology stole our attention. Join us at for a Y2K-inspired phone-free house party. No distractions, no "doing it for the gram, " just real people, house music, house party games and bad dance moves.

To every CEO and founder in Toronto reading this:
Believe it or not... Your people are lonely at work.
Not because you built a bad culture. Not because they don't like each other.
But because hybrid schedules, Slack threads, and back-to-back Zooms have systematically removed every unstructured moment where REAL relationships used to form.
The water cooler conversation. The walk to get lunch. The 5 minutes before the meeting starts.
Those moments were not inefficiencies. They were the GLUE of team cohesion.
And most companies eliminated them in the name of productivity.
I can't fix your teams calendar structure in a LinkedIn post.
But I can offer you one Thursday night in Toronto where your team puts their phones away and is present with one another.
Airplane Mode Vol. 2. March 26. IDK Bar, Ossington.
6 Local House DJs, house party games, and Sharpies and sticky notes to connect like we did in the 90s and early 2000s.
We got duo passes available for your team members: BOGO for $20.
