What we teach is not a sport, but a method of using the mind, body and spirit to better ourselves in our training, as well as our daily life. Taekwon!

Studies have shown that children in Taekwon-Do have an increased sense of responsibility, a decrease in the willingness to take foolish risks and a higher sense of self-esteem. Many doctors have prescribed Taekwon-Do because of the positive outlet it gives children for all of their energy. Lao Tzu was an ancient Chinese philosopher, sage, and the legendary founder of Taoism whose timeless teachings continue to inspire millions across the world. Believed to have lived during the 6th century BCE, he is traditionally credited with writing the Tao Te Ching, one of the most influential philosophical texts in history.

According to tradition, Lao Tzu served as a keeper of the imperial archives before choosing a life of solitude. As he departed civilization, he was asked to record his wisdom, resulting in the Tao Te Ching—a collection of poetic verses exploring the nature of harmony, simplicity, and the Tao, or "the Way."

Lao Tzu taught that true wisdom comes from living in harmony with the natural order of life rather than resisting it. He emphasized humility, compassion, simplicity, and the principle of wu wei—often translated as effortless or non-forceful action—encouraging people to act with balance instead of struggle.

He believed that lasting strength arises from gentleness, that inner peace comes through letting go of excessive desires, and that the greatest leaders guide with humility rather than domination. His teachings continue to offer practical wisdom for living with clarity, patience, and balance.

Lao Tzu's legacy extends far beyond ancient China. Today, he is remembered as one of history's greatest philosophers, cherished for his enduring message that simplicity, harmony, and alignment with nature are the true foundations of wisdom and a meaningful life.
