Friends and customers of Farm Point Skate Sharpening, effective Sat 7 May 2022 we will be closing. We are having to relocate for the next two years for my day job. It’s unfortunate to lose the momentum we have built over the last year and a half. Thank you to those who supported us, and we hope to see you again when we return summer 2024.

Hello valued customers and friends. What started with an intent to sharpen skates for friends and family continues to grow. Last season, we upgraded from a small portable sharpener to a three-headed Blademaster in order to better service our clientele. This season we are again offering drop-off with next day service. If you need your skates quicker, please contact us, and we will try to accommodate as best we can. Looking forward to another great season!

To our valued customers. We will be closed from 4 Aug until 11 Aug for summer holidays. Looking forward to seeing everyone ahead of the 21/22 season.

One of my customers recently brought in these beauties. These vintage CCM Tacks win the prize for the rustiest skates I have ever sharpened. It was a good excuse to use my recently acquired cross grinder to remove the rust and reset the blade. With the customer’s permission, enjoy these before and after photos. Let this also serve as a PSA on the importance of drying your skates to prevent rust. Rusting can cause pitting in the steel, making it hard for the blade to take a good edge, and will also shorten their lifespan considerably. The price of new blades has also gone up in recent months, and a new set of LS3s will cost you between $80 and $90. Take care of your skates, and they’ll take care of you.
