I think about this a lot as my baby sleeps on me. There is so much time in those quiet moments for reflection.

What I notice most is the innate wisdom between a mother and child. The way a baby instinctively seeks regulation through connection, sound, touch, movement, warmth, and presence. The way a mother’s body responds without needing to be taught.

It reminds me that coherence isn’t something we learn. It’s something we are born knowing.

Yet somewhere along the way, many of us lose touch with these natural pathways of support.

In grief, I see this all the time.

We long to be held, witnessed, soothed, and supported, yet many of us have been taught to cope alone. To suppress our tears. To push through our pain. To disconnect from the very things that help us regulate and heal.

Grief invites us back to something ancient. Something our bodies have known all along.

✨ Comment “COHERENCE” and I’ll send you a simple nervous system tool that can help you reconnect with this wisdom during times of grief and overwhelm.

This work is about creating safety in the body while moving through grief.

Softness. Presence. Nervous system support. A space to land in the middle of life’s hardest moments.

For over a decade, I’ve had the honour of supporting individuals and families moving through grief, loss, bereavement, and life transitions.

This work has taught me that grief is not something to fix or rush through - it is something that deserves compassion, presence, support, and community.

Thank you for being here.

There’s something powerful that happens when grief is no longer carried alone.

So many people move through loss feeling isolated in their experience - holding emotions quietly, wondering if anyone truly understands the heaviness, the confusion, the exhaustion, or the way grief can change us.

This is one of the reasons I create group spaces within my grief platform. Not to “fix” grief. Not to rush healing.
But to offer a space where people can come together in community, connection, and honest conversation.

A space to be seen. To be heard. To be witnessed.
To sit beside others who understand the language of loss in their own way.

There is something deeply regulating about being with like-minded people who can hold space for the complexity of grief, bereavement, and life after loss.

Whether through circles, group programs, workshops, or gatherings - these spaces are created with intention, compassion, and the reminder that you do not have to carry it all alone 🤍

This time around, mothering has been teaching me something really different.

I’ve landed in a deep appreciation for my nervous system…
and how it’s not something I need to fix or override—
but something that actually supports my babies.

Almost like a superpower.

My baby C came into this world very quickly—too quickly (story for another day).
And from the moment I held him, there was this deeper feeling in my body…
that he needed me to really be there.

Not just holding him, but grounded. Present. Regulated.

And so I’ve followed that.

From birth to now, he sleeps in my arms every night.

And I know in our society, we’re often taught that babies will just learn to self-soothe.
That they need space to figure that out on their own.

But what I keep coming back to is this—

Self-soothing doesn’t just happen.

It’s something that’s built on top of safety.

And safety is something we create with them.

Through our presence.
Through our consistency.
Through our nervous systems meeting theirs, again and again.

Over time, their body starts to learn…
this is what it feels like to be safe.

And what’s been landing for me lately…
is how this is exactly what I tell my clients.

That we have to rebuild a sense of safety and trust in the body.
That before we can process, feel, or move through anything—
the body has to know it’s safe to be there.

This is what we’re rebuilding.

As adults.
As people moving through grief.
As humans just trying to be here.

We’re not looking for quick fixes—
we’re looking for a place that feels safe enough to land.

When grief enters our lives, the nervous system often interprets it as a threat. The body can move into fight, flight, or shutdown — not because we’re weak, but because the emotion feels too big to hold alone.

But with support, awareness, and time, the nervous system can learn something new.

It can learn that grief is not something we have to run from.

It’s something we can slowly learn to sit beside, breathe with, and carry with tenderness.

And when that shift happens, grief doesn’t disappear.

But our relationship with it changes.

Today I witnessed something powerful in a grief session.

An old client of mine is facing a new wave of loss.

And the truth is, grief often arrives like that…
one heartbreak following another.

But today I witnessed a full-circle moment.

I watched her meet this grief in a completely different way than before.

Her nervous system was grounded.
You could hear it in her voice.

Instead of fearing the grief, pushing it away, or trying to outrun it… she felt peace.

Not because the pain was gone.
Not because the sorrow disappeared.

But because she knew something she didn’t know before.

She knew her body could hold her through it.

That she had the capacity to feel it, breathe through it, and move with it.

Moments like this remind me that grief work isn’t about removing the pain.

It’s about building the inner steadiness that allows us to be with it.

Grief is something we all carry at different points in our lives. Sometimes it’s the loss of a loved one, sometimes a relationship, a version of ourselves, a season that’s ended, or something we can’t quite put into words. And yet, we’re often expected to carry it quietly and alone.

From lived experience, I’ve seen how deeply healing it can be to gather in community when we’re grieving — to be witnessed, to listen, to breathe together, and to remember that we don’t have to hold everything by ourselves.

On the first New Moon of 2026, we’ll be holding a Grief Circle here at the market. The New Moon feels like a gentle moment to pause, to honor what we’re carrying, and to create space for tenderness as we step into a new year.

This isn’t about fixing or rushing healing. It’s simply an invitation to gather, to sit together with care, and to allow whatever needs to be felt to be felt — in a safe, supportive space.

If this resonates, you’re warmly welcome 🤍

Most days motherhood can feel like Groundhog Day.
Rinse and repeat.

Right now, one of those repeated moments in my life is lying in my daughter’s bed, my son sleeping on me, while my husband reads a chapter book aloud. Both of my children need me to fall asleep — so this is the space I’m in.

What fascinates me is how this exact moment can feel so different from day to day.

Some nights, it feels purposeful. Like my role is clear — to be here, to be present, to co-regulate my children as the day winds down.

And other nights, that same moment feels heavy. My body aches to be alone. The overstimulation of being needed feels loud. My nervous system can’t settle, even in the quiet.

Lying here in the dark, with only their breath and mine, it feels like the perfect place to check in. And some days I can. Other days, I can’t. Some days I am soo deeply present to the overwhelm but my nervous system is so done. I witness myself in the reaction knowing all well I shouldn’t… but it happened anyways.

Isn’t this just the “work” the journey we are all on.

Nothing about the moment changes.
But my awareness does.
And that changes everything.

Grief is central to the work I do.
Motherhood is central to my life.

I’m feeling the call to share what is authentically raw in all of me.

The holidays can feel incredibly hard when you’re grieving.
Grief can feel everywhere — in the songs, the gatherings, the empty spaces, the expectations to show up a certain way.

So many people spend that time holding it together.
Getting through the days.
Managing the emotions.
Doing what needs to be done.

And then the holidays end.
Life resumes — work, routines, responsibilities.

Then, when things finally slow down, grief can arrive like an aftershock.
A reminder that it’s still here — still moving, still present, even as life moves forward.

We aren’t doing anything wrong. Our grief is life-long, and this is just a reminder that it continues to move with us — quietly, persistently, alongside our everyday lives.
