🏁 VARNEY SPEEDWAY WEEKEND RECAP! 🏁
What a weekend at Varney Speedway! 🔥
This was the first time both Adam and Luke had ever raced at Varney — a challenging 1/4-mile, high-banked oval that definitely kept everyone on their toes! It was a new track, a new challenge, and one heck of a weekend for Cuthbertson Racing. 🏁
SATURDAY
🏎️ Adam – Legend Car • 4th in his heat
• 6th in the feature
Adam had a solid first night getting comfortable on a tricky new track and bringing home a strong 6th-place finish.
🏎️ Luke – Bandolero • 12th in Feature 1 — after a broken chain put him behind the eight ball
• 8th in Feature 2
Luke fought through the mechanical issue and came back strong in the second feature!
SUNDAY
Sunday brought some serious excitement… and a whole lot of teamwork.
Adam had a nasty crash when another car had its throttle stick wide open. Thankfully, Adam was okay, but the car definitely took a hit. ❤️
And this is where the family jumped into action! Everyone worked together, getting the car repaired and Adam back on track. There was no giving up. 💪
Adam came back out and finished 2nd in his heat race! 🥈
Then came the feature… and WOW! 🔥
Adam put together an AMAZING run, battling hard and bringing it home with a 2nd-place finish! 🥈🏁 What a comeback after that crash!
🏎️ Luke – Bandolero
Luke had his best features of the season with an 8th and 10th place finish! 👏
But the finishing positions don't tell the whole story. Luke was right there with the lead pack, lapping cars and battling hard, doing an incredible job against drivers with much more experience. He continues to show just how much he is learning and improving every time he gets behind the wheel. 💪🔥
Most importantly, this weekend wasn't just about the finishes.
It was about family, teamwork, determination and never giving up. ❤️
From fixing race cars after a crash to helping each other in the pits, everyone played a part. We worked together, supported each other, laughed, stressed, celebrated and made some pretty amazing memories.

Nasty wreck happened in the heat when the inside cars throttle stuck but the team made some quick fixes and Adam got back out and finished 2nd in it....onto the A Main. Todd Tolton Ontario Legend Car Series #

We are so proud of the dedication and perseverance Luke has put in to improving his driving. We are honored to have him nominated for the 2026 Most Improved Driver Scuffy Award!

The Final Scuffy to announce tonight is the Most Improved award, now presented by Lakeside Mobile Tire Inc.

The nominations so far are:

Colton Clark: this kid was going laps down in the features last year and this year contending for and winning features.

Kyle Abbott: this driver was unable to finish heat races in 2025, but has gone from that to completing most of his races in 2026, and being a solid 4th in points at the time of this writing.

Ryan Armstrong: no question one of the biggest improvements, coming from being unable to run many laps at all to contending for a feature win his first start in a new car, after winning a heat. Ran into problems throughout the year, but came back strong each time.

Cory Whittam: failed to make multiple A mains in the Crate Sprints in 2025, to making A mains, winning B Main features, and even leading laps in the A main feature, being laps away from his first win!

Paige Stevenson: she was struggling for speed out in the bone stocks, only to see her speed improve vastly, and her compete during the feature races, not just ride around.

Len Sterritt: to come from being a middle pack racer to a weekly top 5 contender for wins is a huge improvement, and one that may not have been expected. Weekly showcases the speed the Sterritt Racing team has against some of the most well funded bone stock teams at Delaware.

Dave Bragg: has steadily climbed up the ranks in mini stocks to become a weekly threat to podium and win heat races where last season was a bit more towards the middle pack!

Cody Coburn: has been able to win heat this year, run with the top five, and has surpassed his top 5 finish count from last season, improving his stats vastly.

Freddy Hancock: when racing at Full Throttle, was always towards the rear of the pack in the past, but has improved greatly to run in the top 10 weekly, and even has been able to record some top 5 finishes, whilest also travelling to other tracks and making the A main.

Ryan Clark: coming from where we didn't know if he would continue racing to being a podium threat each week, and surpassing his totals from 2025 already and the season isn't over yet. Currently 7th in points and showing more comfort running up front!

Luke Cuthbertson: wow! used to be behind the pack in features, going laps down, to now running just off the lead pack! Occasionally a lap down, but incredible improvement considering he's 8 and most racers are 15+.

🏁 IMAGEWRAPS LEGEND CAR SHOOTOUT — HOW IT WORKS 🏁

The ImageWraps Legend Car Shootout is coming to Sauble Speedway as part of FINAL BATTLE, and we want to make sure everyone understands exactly how the event will work!

💰 THE $1,000 WINNER-TAKE-ALL SHOOTOUT BONUS

The $1,000 Shootout is open to qualified drivers only.

To qualify, a driver must have won a feature event with the Ontario Legend Car Series, Great Lakes Legends Series or at Sauble Speedway during the qualifying period.

The qualified driver who earns the most points across all three 20-lap features will take home the entire $1,000 bonus!

You do NOT have to win the overall event to win the Shootout. You simply have to score more points than every other qualified Shootout driver.

🏆 SHOOTOUT POINTS

Points will be awarded in each of the three features:

1st — 26 points
2nd — 25 points
3rd — 24 points
…and so on, down to 26th — 1 point.

There is also a one-point Sauble bonus available to qualified drivers who have won a Sauble Speedway Legend Car feature during the qualifying period.

That bonus is capped at ONE point per driver, regardless of how many Sauble features they have won.

🏁 THE EVENT FORMAT

The ImageWraps Legend Car Shootout will consist of:

3 × 20-lap features

The field will be capped at 26 cars.

All pre-qualified Shootout drivers are guaranteed a starting position in the three features, provided they post a qualifying time unless excused by race officials due to mechanical issues.

The final practice session will serve as qualifying:

5 cars • 5 laps • Line up and go!

The top 21 cars from qualifying, including the qualified Shootout drivers, will transfer directly to the features.

If necessary, the remaining cars will compete in a B-Main, with the top 5 advancing to complete the 26-car field.

If a car cannot make the call for Feature 2 or Feature 3, an available non-qualified car may be added to the rear of the field to maintain 26 starters where possible.

🔄 STARTING LINEUPS

Feature 1: Heads-up from qualifying.

Feature 2: Lead-lap cars from Feature 1 will be inverted.

Feature 3: Lead-lap cars will once again be inverted.

The top three finishers will report to tech after each feature.

This will be a four-tire event.

💵 THE OVERALL EVENT

The $1,000 Shootout bonus is separate from the regular event purse.

Every driver in the field — Shootout qualified or not — is racing for the overall event victory and payout.

The driver with the best average finish across all three features will be declared the overall event winner.

That means a qualified Shootout driver could potentially win BOTH:

🏆 $750 overall event winner payout
💰 $1,000 ImageWraps Shootout bonus

That’s a potential $1,750 payday!

The remainder of the event payout will be announced separately.

We know how much the Legend Car teams enjoy racing at Sauble Speedway, and we want to make this one of the biggest Legend events of the season.

Three features. 60 laps. 26 cars. $1,000 winner-take-all Shootout bonus.

We might have had an off racing weekend but that didn't stop us from enjoying a summer weekend!🌞☀️

Well was a mixed up show last night at Peterborough Speedway because of the rain but the Bandos got their full night in. Luke did amazing! His starts improved, he ran his fastest lap ever, he lapped cars and pulled off a two strong 9th places!
The legends night was cut short because of the time restrictions and they will run their feature on the 22nd and have a double feature night. During their heats Adam got an 8th and 3rd and Wesley two 4th.
The bandos are off now till their Double Header weekend at Full Throttle Speedway.

Smooth is fast.....Luke running his best times ever at Peterborough Speedway
