Our Summer Session begins July 6, 2026, with classes held on Monday evenings from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Couchiching Beach Park. These classes are friendly, non-contact, and focus on teaching traditional karate. Students aged 10 and older are welcome to join, and parents are encouraged to train alongside younger students.
Students must be 10 and up, or 8 and 9 if an adult trains with them.

On June 14, 2026, students from the Orillia Academy of Karate travelled to Toronto to compete in the annual Toronto Academy of Karate Tournament. The event brought together martial artists from across the region, and the Orillia students delivered an impressive performance, returning home with numerous awards. The students competed in two categories: Kata (patterns) and Kumite (sparring).
Their results are as follows:
White Belts
Cash Ainsworth: 4th in Kata, 3rd in Kumite
Sebastian Hromko: 2nd in Kata, 1st in Kumite
Dhivet Vikram: 4th in Kata
Yellow Belts
Isaac Cuthbertson: 4th in Kata
Austin Hosseini-Ara: 1st in Kata, 4th in Kumite
Addison Lewis: 5th in Kata, 2nd in Kumite
Grayson Cooper: 4th in Kata
Brown Belts
Riley Masnica: 1st in Kata, 1st in Kumite

The Orillia Academy of Karate recently had some promotions. Congratulations to Austin Hosseini-Ara , Issac Olimer, , Dexter Campbell and Grayson Cooper on earning their Yellow Belts. They all did a great job and I am very pleased with their testing. Now they will start towards their Green Belts and am sure they will respond to the challenge.
Our Fall session is coming to a close and are starting a new Winter session on January 5th and run until March 30th. Classes are held Monday and Wednesday evenings 6 - 7:30 pm at Rotary Place for 10 years old and up. Family orientated and friendly, but disciplined.
