⚠️Swimming advisories have been issued for Couchiching Beach and Moose Beach by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit. Visit smdhu.org/Beaches.

Lifeguards are off duty during a swimming advisory and swimmers are cautioned to swim at their own risk. 🛟‼️

➡️ An advisory is a warning to swimmers, but it is not a beach closure. During a swimming advisory, the beach is posted with warning signs indicating there may be an increased risk of developing minor irritations and infections. If you choose to swim during a swimming advisory, avoid dunking your head or swallowing the water.

The best compliments come straight from the campers 💙

We gave our campers a series of prompts and asked them to point to the counsellor who best fit each one - Seeing our counsellors recognized through the eyes of the children they support is what summer camp is all about ☀️

Way to go, Day Camp team! 👏

💙 Everyone deserves the chance to participate, belong, and have fun at camp!

The City of Orillia’s Buddy Program provides one-to-one support for children who require additional assistance to fully participate in summer camp programs. Through community support and donations, we can help create more inclusive recreation opportunities for all.

When registering for camp, consider adding a donation to support the Buddy Program and help make a difference in a child’s summer experience. ☀️

We are also currently accepting business sponsorship opportunities for organizations interested in supporting inclusive recreation in our community. Charitable tax receipts are available for eligible sponsorships and donations.

Most people who drown never intended to enter the water.

Being prepared means thinking ahead—whether you're visiting a beach, spending time near a dock, or enjoying a day at the cottage.

Learn water safety skills, wear a lifejacket when needed, and make a plan before heading out.

Preparation saves lives.

As National Drowning Prevention Week comes to a close, remember that being Water Smart® isn't just for one week—it's a habit that helps keep families safer all summer long.
