🚸 Only One Week Until School Starts! 📚🚌
With students heading back to school soon, we'll be seeing more traffic on our roads, sidewalks, and at bus stops. Let's work together to keep everyone safe during the busy back-to-school season.
✅ Watch for children and other pedestrians, especially near schools, crosswalks, playgrounds, and bus stops.
✅ Slow down and obey all posted school zone speed limits.
✅ Be alert for flashing lights and stop arms on school buses and stop when required.
✅ Put distractions away. A few seconds of inattention can have serious consequences.
✅ Expect the unexpected. Children may enter the roadway suddenly or cross where you don't expect them.
✅ Allow yourself extra travel time during morning and afternoon school drop-off and pick-up periods.
✅ If you're walking or cycling, use designated crossings, stay visible, and follow traffic signals.
As the new school year begins, patience, awareness, and caution can make all the difference. Let's help ensure every student gets to and from school safely.
