My sweet Berthie girl crossed the rainbow bridge today🌈🐓❤️

She was more than just a chicken…she was our beautiful old girl, the queen of the coop, and the gentlest soul!! Berthie loved mashed potatoes, lettuce, cheese, corn, meal worms, and taking the best dirt baths in the sunshine!! She ruled the roost with confidence and sweetness, and somehow made every day brighter just by being there!!

She was also our little snow bird. Every winter she would move into the garage where she could stay cozy and warm, safe from the cold. It was just part of who she was. She was special, spoiled, and so deeply loved.

It’s hard to imagine the coop without her. Thank you, Berthie girl, for every cluck, every funny little run, every cuddle, and every moment of joy you brought us over the years! You had the sweetest heart and left little chicken prints all over ours!!

Rest easy in the biggest dirt bath beautiful girl. We love you!❤️
