🏊‍♀️ Welcome Back, Coach Chanelle! 🏊‍♀️
We’re excited to welcome Coach Chanelle back to the OSHAC coaching team this season as the Varsity and Masters coach!
Chanelle’s OSHAC journey began at just six years old, and she remained a dedicated swimmer with the club through Grade 12. Since then, she has continued to give back to the sport she loves through coaching. Over the past two years, she has coached our Varsity swimmers and has also spent the last year working with our Masters program.
With experience as both a competitive swimmer and coach, Chanelle is passionate about meeting each swimmer where they are and helping them set and achieve meaningful goals. Whether your focus is refining technique, staying active, preparing for competition, or simply enjoying time in the pool, Chanelle is eager to support you every step of the way.

🏊‍♂️ Welcome to OSHAC, Coach Dan Stratton! 🏊‍♂️
We’re excited to welcome Dan Stratton as our new AG3 and Dolphin Coordinator! 💙💛
With over 30 years of coaching experience across Ontario, Dan has worked with swimmers at every level, from novice and varsity athletes to masters swimmers and provincial competitors. Since 2012, he has also served as a Learning Facilitator with Swim Ontario, mentoring more than 100 coaches throughout the province.
A certified Senior Coach since 2014, Dan brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and passion to our team. Most importantly, he continues to love helping children and youth grow through the sport of swimming.
Please join us in welcoming Coach Dan to the OSHAC family. We look forward to an exciting season ahead! 👏🏊‍♀️💙💛

🌟 Welcome Back, Coach Ryley Bell! 🌟
We are thrilled to welcome back Head Age Group Coach Ryley Bell for another exciting season with OSHAC!
Swimming has been a huge part of Ryley’s life. She joined OSHAC as a swimmer at just 6 years old and has spent the past 17 years growing with the club. Over the last 8 years, she has brought that experience to the pool deck as a coach, inspiring and developing swimmers of all ages and abilities.
For Ryley, coaching is about more than technique and race times. It’s about helping athletes discover what they’re capable of, build confidence, overcome challenges, and learn to believe in themselves. Having spent so many years as part of the OSHAC family, she understands what makes our club so special: the friendships, teamwork, dedication, and memories that last a lifetime.
We are excited for another season of learning, growing, supporting one another, and celebrating every achievement, big or small.
Here’s to chasing goals, making memories, and creating another season to remember!

Welcome Back, Coach Gord Sprung! 💙
The Oshawa Aquatic Club is proud to welcome back Gord Sprung as our Head Coach!
Gord’s journey with OSHAC began in 1994 when he joined the club as Head Age Group Coach. Just four years later, his passion, leadership, and commitment to athlete development earned him the role of Head Coach, a position in which he has helped shape generations of swimmers.
A former National-level swimmer with over 16 years of competitive experience, Gord brings unmatched knowledge and expertise to our program. With 25+ years of coaching experience, he has guided OSHAC athletes to incredible achievements, including multiple Provincial and Youth National Championships.
His impact extends far beyond the podium. Under Gord’s leadership, numerous swimmers have gone on to represent Ontario and Canada on prestigious teams, including the Ontario Canada Games Team and the Junior Pan Pacific Team.
Gord’s dedication to excellence, athlete development, and fostering a positive team culture continues to be the foundation of OSHAC’s success.

🌊 Congratulations to All OSHAC Swimmers at the Open Water Championships! 🌊
Today, our OSHAC swimmers took on the challenge of open water racing with determination, courage, and incredible perseverance. Open water competition demands not only physical strength but also mental toughness, and every swimmer rose to the occasion.
From the start to the finish, our athletes worked hard and pushed through with every stroke, navigating the course with focus and resilience. Whether battling fatigue, challenging conditions, or chasing personal goals, each swimmer demonstrated the dedication and commitment that make OSHAC proud.
Open water racing is about more than results—it’s about embracing the challenge, trusting your training, and giving your best effort. Today, our swimmers did exactly that. Their hard work, sportsmanship, and determination were on full display, representing the club with pride and excellence.
A huge thank you to our coaches, volunteers, and families for their unwavering support, encouragement, and commitment throughout the season and on race day.

🏊‍♂️ Grae Running Makes Waves at Canadian Trials! 🏊‍♂️
 
Congratulations to Grae Running on an outstanding performance at the 2026 Canadian Swimming Trials in Montreal, Quebec this week!
Grae delivered an impressive swim in the 50m Breaststroke, earning a 7th-place overall finish in the Junior Final against some of the top young swimmers from across the country. Competing on the national stage and securing a spot among Canada’s best junior athletes is a tremendous achievement and a reflection of Grae’s dedication, hard work, and competitive spirit.
 
As if making the Junior Final wasn’t enough, Grae also set a new club record in the event with a blazing time of 29.36 seconds! This remarkable performance rewrites the record books and showcases the progress he has made through countless hours of training and commitment to excellence.
 
Achieving a Junior Final appearance while simultaneously establishing a new club standard is something to be incredibly proud of. Grae continues to demonstrate what is possible through determination, perseverance, and a passion for the sport.
 
Congratulations, Grae, on an amazing week of racing! Your OSHAC family is proud of your accomplishments and excited to see what the future holds. Keep pushing your limits and making history!
