Brian spent many years helping the original Motor City Open operate by setting up the stands and boards, picking up supplies for the bar, and running the bar.
He helped run the tournament for 3 years.
He also helped take down and disassemble the boards, stage, etc. His son Daryl would help him with the setup for years. Daryl would sell tickets at raffles and keep the event clean.
It is great to see the love so many had for the Motor City Open held in Oshawa for all those years, starting in 1975.

WHAT IS CYSTIC FIBROSIS?

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is the most common fatal genetic disease affecting Canadian children and young adults. At present, there is no cure.

CF causes various effects on the body but mainly affects the digestive system and lungs. The degree of cystic fibrosis severity differs from person to person, however, the persistence and ongoing infection in the lungs, with the destruction of the lungs and loss of lung function, will eventually lead to death in the majority of people with CF.
Typical complications caused by cystic fibrosis are:
Difficulty digesting fats and proteins
Malnutrition and vitamin deficiencies because of the inability to absorb nutrients
Progressive lung damage from chronic infections and aberrant inflammation
CF-related diabetes
Sinus infections
More than 4,300 Canadian children, adolescents, and adults with cystic fibrosis attend specialized CF clinics. Half of the Canadians who died with CF in the past five years were under the age of 37.
