Swinging strengthens the sensory experience and is a rhythmic, repetitive motion that provides a calming sensory input to the vestibular system, which helps regulate balance and spatial orientation, offering a sense of control and stability that can be soothing and comforting, especially when feeling overwhelmed or anxious in other situations.

When a child is having a meltdown, parents/caregivers often want to stop the tears because it hurts their hearts that their kids are struggling. ASD children aren’t crying, or wailing, for no reason,
they’re crying because it’s what their bodies need to do in that moment to release tension and emotion from feeling overwhelmed with emotions or sensory stimulations.

At WRTS, we use empathy and compassion, and an understanding for what parents and caregivers go through. Our space is safe and you're not alone!

Rare Disease Day takes place on the last day of February each year. The main objected of Rare Disease Day is to raise awareness amongst the general public and policy-makers about rare diseases and their impact on patients' lives.

Monkey Bars are a great way for children to develop their gross motor skills and visual hand eye co-ordination as they learn to swing from one bar to the next. Children set challenges for themselves: swinging from one end to the other, skipping a bar, and turning upside down.
