Five Days of Abundance 11/21/2023

I just danced on the internet and gave no poops, lip singing to my new fav song (Letting go by Angie McMahon)!!

A phrase you would NOT have heard me saying 6 years ago as I strived to be the best at everything….(recovering perfectionist here).

I can tell you stories for days….which I do in my self-compassion mini-course. Asynchronous…so follow along at your own pace and packed with real life examples, practices you can weave into your day to reduce stress and return to being calm and gentle with yourself….

Hi friends - I'm shifting things a little bit. I LOVE sharing here - but I yearn for more community, more connection than is possible with a page where I share with you, but we don't get to share with eachother.

If you're keen to join my new private FB community Circle of Love, I'll pop the link in the comments.

These words from the “Declaration of Interdependence” speak such truth in the face of chaos.

Enough with the quest for unhealthy striving.

Enough with small numbers of people benefitting while huge numbers of people suffer.

Enough with it all.

This way of being: this unhealthy independence is impacting us all ins so many ways.

The people in my world are seeing the effects of this in their day-to-day lives.

Feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, depleted, resentful, hurting…

Needing help.

Needing support.

Needing community.

Needing to be validated and seen, heard and understood.

This is the way of interdependence.

This is the way we heal.

This is the way we ALL will thrive.

We need each other now more than ever, don’t you think?

I’m still basking in the memories of this view from the weekend.

I had padded down to the water’s edge before kiddos were up.

The mist on the lake and soft pink of the sky pulled me like a magnet of my soul.

I found a little rocky spot to sit and as I breathed in the view, my eye caught this feather right at my feet.

Soft.

I held it up admiring its perfection and imperfection, loving its existence.

My whole self vibrating with gratitude.

Gratitude for the moment.
Gratitude to myself for allowing myself to be pulled to the water.

I could have easily gotten swayed by the shoulds and should nots.

I shouldn’t leave my kiddo still sleeping. What if he wakes up and can’t find me and is greeted by other adults?

I should help with making breakfast.

I shouldn’t sit here for so long.

I should get back to my responsibilities.

Here’s the thing:

That moment I took to breathe it all in is still running like a loop in my mind, filling my heart with gratitude still, a whole day later.

I feel filled with awe and wonder, even though today my kids are home with sniffles and coughs.

That one moment has given me so much more than just a few minutes of bliss. It’s fuelled me for days and is giving me resources to draw from in the moments that feel less than ideal.

This is what’s possible when we give ourselves moments to reconnect, to release, to be with ourselves.

Let me show you.

Come join me in The Release! Three days of soul-filling goodness. Moments to feel grateful. Moments to give you life energy.

We begin November 1st.

Joy and happiness isn’t that complicated.

It’s simply doing what you love,
with the people you love,
in the places that you love.

That’s it.

Nothing more fancy than that.

🌟 What’s your joy? Share in the comments.

Mine is 💯 time spent with family and friends in nature, hiking, sitting around a fire telling stories and sharing laughs.

Heart bursting joy inducing for me!!

Do you know how courageous you are?

This was a question my mom used to ask me all the time.

She thought I was very brave – for things I really took for granted as just being part of life.

🌟 Raising kids.
🌟 Starting a business.
🌟 Moving (a bagillion times) and making new friends.

Perhaps she still saw me as the small, nervous child I used to be, and somehow in the way that moms just innately know, she recognized a courage in me I still often take for granted.

The truth is, life does require us to choose courage.

Especially recently.

It’s taken courage to make choices that support and protect yourself and your family in the ways you’ve chosen to do that.

It’s taken courage to re-enter the world.

It’s taken courage to continue going despite being bone tired some days after working all day and blocking out the mess of your home office.

(And yes, stay at home parents, I see you. You work full-time plus! Don’t cut yourself short, mmmkay?).

It’s taken courage to be strong for those who need you.

It’s not nothing what you’ve been through. What we have all been through.

It all adds up. It just does.

I’m curious…..

⁉️Where is the space for you to release?

For YOU to let go and just be?

For YOU to be nurtured and held and supported?

To have enough stillness to just sit and breathe?

To even come into awareness about what you are experiencing?

These questions have been circling and I’ve decided to create a space for you (that I too am craving).

✨ It’s called The Release.

A place for you to let yourself be, just as you are. Perfectly imperfect.

I will guide you to reconnect with yourself so that you can come into awareness of what you are experiencing and what you need.

This is deeper than being kind to yourself….this is literally allowing yourself to be seen, to be supported, to be heard so that you can get clear on what YOU need.

Not what anyone else needs.

You.

The Release begins November 1, 2022.

Last night in the Wild Woman group, we were talking about relaxing into receiving (the relationships we desire, the moments of presence we crave, etc).

It was brought up that in order to receive, there is a bit of vulnerability that comes with that.

Trust that it’s safe to relax enough.

Trust that it’s safe to speak our desires out loud.

Trust that we can lean back and receive the support we need.

————

I’ve been noticing a craving to receive more nurturing, gentle kindness.

My mama was my go-to human when I was feeling that need.

She was my go-to human for a lot of things!

Love was on tap all the time with mom.

I’ve been so missing her love.

This week I reached out to a beautiful coach and friend, Jess from .life.legacy who held me with such care as I cried.

She held such tender space for my emotions to flow.

It felt so good. Just what I needed to receive.

I reached out to one of my mentors to tell her how I was feeling and share the kind of love I miss so much.

She poured out her love to me and I let it flow in, filling up the holes in my achy heart.

I went outside and a tree in our yard dropped this perfect heart leaf. It felt like love raining down.

I now call it my love tree.

My sons keep bringing me nature’s love notes from the love tree.

You see…when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable with people who can hold us, we let ourselves be loved in just the ways we need.

So, here is to honouring all your feelings, to letting yourself be vulnerable and to trusting that all that you desire is right there.

As a mom, I notice myself working hard to keep our little family moving forward. Holding people’s big emotions, guiding my little guys to find solutions, fostering independence and having fun!

This doesn’t even include the practicalities of living in our house - cleaning up, cooking, feeding, bathing, providing all the things needed for these small humans to thrive.

And I thank goodness I get to do this with my partner.

And yet, I’ve noticed a deep yearning inside me to be held, to be supported, to be cared for the ways that I care for my people.

The truth is, we all need this.

We all desire this.

We all could benefit from being truly held and seen (especially after two long years of holding it together through this pandemic).

So, today, I invite you to imagine what it would feel like to release the effort and simply let yourself be supported.

Who or what do you need in your life to feel more fully supported?

Perhaps there are things you need to release (I’m talking to you high achievers and perfectionists).

When I need to embody this teaching, I go to the forest.

I lean against the trees and feel their strength. I witness the interconnection that exists….that the forest supports itself by all life supporting each other.

Perhaps what we all need more than anything is to emerge from a time of having to be independent and separate from one another and remember who we are as beings:

Interdependent.

Designed to thrive together.

Created to give AND to receive.

You are fully supported here in this community, always and forever.
