In what feels like record time, the Rideau Canal Skateway will reopen at 8 am tomorrow, Wednesday, February 18.

❄️ The break helped protect the ice from today's warm spell.

First flood, completed! 👀🤝 Yesterday, our teams flooded a section of the #RideauCanal Skateway between Patterson Creek Bridge and Bank Street. They use pumps to draw water from below the ice surface and help build the thickness needed to safely open the Skateway. For your safety, please stay off the ice until it officially opens. Our crews are professionals who know how to manage the risks associated with their work.
