I should really have used "resistance training" instead of "strength training", because this has very broad applications.
Say it with me: WE NEED TO PROVIDE ENOUGH RESISTANCE TO PROVOKE ADAPTATION.
That's pretty much all training is. Eliciting positive neutral and tissue adaptations through effective force application.
The best bang for your buck is usually the exercise that you can push harder, not the one that makes you feel the most wobbly.

I think the most practical use case for BOSU balls is physical rehab, or for folks with general balance issues who want to feel more confident. Feeling capable is important, but it doesn't mean we're also challenging our tissues, or optimizing sport-specific skills in the most optimal way.
And that's ok! They have their place in the exercise/health world, and if you like 'em, use 'em.

I'm trying something new! Making some content for skiers looking to improve their performance through training. (This video is a little choppy, still working out some kinks.)
I know this might be a hot take, a lot of trainers and coaches love their balance tools. The current research seems to indicate that balance skills are not especially transferrable. And training "stabilizer muscles" isn't really a thing (sorry).
Stay tuned for how to effectively use balance tools and how to get the best bang for your buck in the gym.
