WELCOME COACH KRISTEN 👊🏼

We are very excited to announce that Kristen, a Registered Kinesiologist, has joined our team! ✅

With a background playing elite hockey, working as an athletic trainer, and now as a Kinesiologist, Kristen brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the gym both from a performance and rehab standpoint. Her expertise helps us provide an exceptional training environment for our athletes and clients.🔥

Read below to get to know Kristen:

Hi everyone, I’m Kristen!

I grew up in Barrie playing a variety of sports such as soccer, volleyball and basketball, however my two main sports were hockey and golf. I played hockey for the Barrie Sharks for 11 years with my last 2 years playing for the Barrie JR Sharks in the U22 elite league. I was originally from Ottawa and am excited to be moving back home!

I completed my Bachelors of Kinesiology with a specialization in Athletic Therapy at Acadia University in 2024. During my time at Acadia I worked with many different varsity sports teams (basketball, soccer, hockey, football) as the student athletic trainer. After completing my degree I moved back to Barrie to work as the head trainer for the Barrie JR Sharks for the 2024-2025 season. I have experience instructing exercise classes for individuals with Parkinson’s disease, postpartum individuals as well as team training with youth women’s hockey teams. I am a certified First Responder as well as a Registered Kinesiologist and am always striving to further my education.

In my spare time I enjoy being active outdoors (hiking, biking), trying new sports and spending time with friends and family!

Looking forward to meeting everyone at the gym!

COACH JASON IS BACK! 📣

We’re thrilled to have our amazing coach Jason back after another big season playing professional hockey in Italy- highlighted by his Olympic Games with Team Italy just a couple of months ago! 🏒

Jason will be running many of our team sessions, youth and junior programs, and he is also available for private personal or small group training. Reach out to us if you’d like to book with Jason. 📩

Read below to get to know Jason:

“Hi everyone, I’m Jason!

I grew up playing minor hockey in the AA/AAA league in Ottawa before earning the opportunity to play in the QMJHL for the Gatineau Olympiques and Saint John Sea Dogs, winning the president’s trophy twice, and a Memorial Cup Championship in 2011 with the Sea Dogs. After Junior, I came back home to Ottawa and played for the Carleton University Ravens while completing my bachelor’s degree in communications.

Following that, I immediately jumped on the opportunity to begin a professional hockey career overseas- playing in France, Poland, and most recently Italy.

Holding dual citizenship in Canada and Italy, I have been able to compete for Team Italy in 2 World Championships Tournaments, and most recently in the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics.

I was a volunteer coach for the Carleton Jr. Ravens AAA spring hockey team for 5 years from 2014-2019.

I’ve been a head hockey instructor at both the Carleton Ravens summer hockey camps for 10 years and with the SSHD (Senators Spring Hockey Development) AAA program at the Bell Sensplex.

I’m excited to meet you all and work with you!”

PROGRAM EXPANSION! 📣

Our Sports Performance Program now has TWO divisions!

1️⃣ Ages 8-13 ➡️ YOUTH

2️⃣ Ages 14-19 ➡️ JUNIOR

Our spring & summer schedule is now available for booking!

We’ve added several options for both groups, including Saturdays and Sundays! ✅

With this age split, we’re excited to accommodate more athletes across more ages, without any compromise to the integrity of our training program. This expansion solidifies our commitment to providing a small group environment (no more than 6 athletes), high-level coaching, and age-appropriate training.

For families with children in both age groups, we’ve ensured overlapping group schedule options. Don’t forget that families save 15% when 2 or more children sign up! 📌

The Why Behind Our Challenges 💡

Athletes thrive on competition. If you want someone to try their absolute hardest at something- make a scoreboard. 🖍️

✅ Time it. Add up your reps. Make it a race.

✅ Write your name and result on the board.

Athletes will find what going to failure truly feels like. They will push themselves harder than if it was “just another drill.”

They will come back fired up for the next challenge; and they’ll come back even more fired up when they get beaten. 🏆
