The Soma Fabrications Pescadero and I have been on a few long walks on the beach lately. The nuances of a steel all road bike is a beautiful thing. Im really impressed with the comfort I’m getting out of the Soma Pescadero with its sporty geo and lively characteristics. The fork is a joy to ride. I honestly forgot how light and compliant steel forks could be when they’re not designed for disc brakes and thru axel. What a simple but fun bike Soma made, more thoughts on YouTube soon. Headwinds were brutal this day but spirits were high 🤘

A closer look at the wheelset for the 𝚂𝚞𝚛𝚕𝚢 𝙱𝚒𝚔𝚎𝚜 Grappler. Velocity USA Blunt SS rims hit the sweet spot for this bike- super light, plenty wide, and tough. Ultradynamico Bicycle Tires Mars Race tires are a favourite of ours too. We ride through the city to get to trails often and the Mars tires are quicker on pavement than you’d expect. But that’s not all, they’re so comfy and grippy in the trails, we love these tires. Lastly, I can’t get over the look of this wheelset, it suits the purple Grappler so well and the rims and tires work so good together. It acted as a catalyst for the rest of the build’s colour palette which sent me down many long internet holes trying to find more grey and green. I’m so stoked on this wheelset 🩶

The Soma Fabrications Pescadero Build is live on YouTube! This bike came together really nicely with a mix of new and old parts. The frame was looking better and better with each silver bit. Have a watch via the 🔗 in our bio and stay tuned for some ride and first impressions coverage soon.

Camo cycling cap handmade by Each one is slightly unique, they’re packable with an unstructured brim, works great under helmets, designed to look good without a helmet as well.

The fit

Our Wacky Tube Man Tee drawn by Brendan now in black with a red graphic that we’re calling the “night ride” version.

Out for delivery

Great shirt to eat a bagel in

Our Slow Pace sticker is back! It’s now white and the entire sticker is slightly transparent. It’s also slightly smaller (more bike frame friendly). A few more stickers have been restocked as well with more on the way.

Paracord Pant Protector handmade by out of leftover fabric. 3M reflective strip- these work great for me (Brendan) when I want to ride in pants compared to the ones that snap around your ankle, or velcro ones (those ones often aren’t big enough).
