Father/Sons Profile: Cory Philpot, Tyson Philpot, Jalen Philpot
Cory Philpot played running back for the BC Lions 1993-1997, Winnipeg Blue Bombers 1999-2000. Grey Cup Champion 1994, CFL Allstar 1995. In 1995 he set the CFL record of 22 touchdowns.
Tyson Philpot joined the Montreal Alouettes as a wide receiver in 2022-present. Grey Cup Champion 2023, Grey Cup Most Valuable Canadian 2023. Vanier Cup Champion 2019.
Jalen Philpot: Tyson's twin brother is a wide receiver with the Calgary Stampeders 2022-present. Vanier Cup Champion 2019 2x First Team All-Canadian Allstar 2029-2021

Father and Son: Garrett Doll/Tanner Doll
Garrett Doll played linebacker for the Calgary Stampeders 1985-87 recording 3 sacks and 2 interceptions. He was drafted in the second round, 11th overall.
Tanner Doll played long snapper for the Ottawa RedBlacks 2015-2017, 2023, Hamilton Tiger Cats 2018, BC Lions 2019-2022. Tanner was a Grey Cup champion in 2016.
On a personal note, I got to know Tanner during his days in Ottawa, met his Mom Lisa and Dad Garrett ( I shot his CFL JOGO rookie card) These are some of the nicest people I've met through all my years covering the CFL.

Father and Son Profile: Larry and Jeff Fairholm.
Larry Fairholm played safety for the Alouettes de Montréal 1965-1972, Grey Cup Champion 1970, CFL Allstar 1969. he never missed a single game in his career, 112 regular season games. In 1969 he had 5 interceptions and was a punt returner.
Jeff Fairholm played slotback with the Saskatchewan Roughriders 1988-1993, Toronto Argonauts 1994-1996. 2x Grey Cup Champion, Jackie Parker Trophy 1988, West division rookie-of-the-year , Roughriders Plaza of Honour 2005. In his career he had 53 touchdown catches.

Father and Son Profile: Kevin Konar/Adam Konar.
Kevin Konar played linebacker for the BC Lions 1980-1989, winning a Grey Cup Championship in 1985, 2x CFL Allstar. He was inducted to the BC Lions Wall of Fame in 2008.
Adam Konar played Linebacker for Edmonton 2015-2018, BC Lions 2019-2021, 2025-present, Edmonton 2022-2023, Calgary 2024. Grey Cup Champion 2015.

Jay Roberts and Jed Roberts.
Jay Roberts played for the Ottawa Rough Riders 1964-1970 winning two Grey Cup Championships in 1968, 1969. A graduate of The university of Kansas where he played basketball, football and high jump. Jay Roberts passed away in 2010 and was the first CFL player to donate his brain and spinal cord to medical research.
Jed Roberts played for Edmonton from 1990-2002, Grey Cup Champion in 1993. Jed attended the University of Northern Colorado. In 2002 he was voted to the Northern Colorado 50 year football dream team.
Jed Recorded ten quarterback sacks in the 1993 season with the Edmonton. He set the Edmonton single game record for most special teams tackles in a playoff game with four in 1999.
Roberts set the Edmonton franchise record for most special teams tackles in a game with five against the BC Lions in 2000 and holds the Edmonton franchise record for most special teams in a career with 163.

Player profile: Tim Fleiszer
Tim Fleiszer played 10 years in the CFL with the Hamilton Tiger Cats 1998-1999, Alouettes de Montréal 2000-2002, Ottawa Renagades 2003-2004, Edmonton 2005, Saskatchewan Roughriders 2006-2007. He's a 4x Grey Cup Champion, the only player to win 4 Grey Cup rings with 4 different teams. He was the first overall pick in the 1998 CFL draft.
Fleiszer is a Harvard University graduate where he played his freshman year as a fullback before switching to Defensive End. He was an All-Ivy selection in 1996-97.
Tim is currently the CEO of the Concussion Legacy Foundation. It's mission is to advance the study of concussions, brain trauma and mental health in Canadian athletes, military personnel, youth and other at risk groups.

Player Profile: Brian Pillman.
Brian Pillman played for the Calgary Stampeders during the 1986 season. He was best known for his wrestling. Pillman trained in Calgary with Stu Hart at Stampede Wrestling, as a part of the tag team Bad Company with Bruce Hart they won the Stampede Wrestling International Tag Team championship title in 1987. He left Stampede Wrestling in 1988 and joined Japan Pro-Wrestling.
In 1989 he joined the WCW under the name "Flyin Brian" due to his aerial style. In 1993-94 he teamed with "Stunning" Steve Austin as the Hollywood Blonds. Following his split with Austin he teamed up with Rick Flair, Chris Benoit, and Arn Anderson billed as the Four Horsemen.
In 1996 Pillman was seriously injured in a car crash after falling asleep and hitting a tree that put him in a coma for week.
In June 1996 he signed with the WWF. In 1997 he joined with Bret Hart, Owen Hart, The British Bulldog and Jim Neidhart as part of the anti-Americam Hart Foundation.
His final match was scheduled for October 5th 1997, however Pillman was found dead in his hotel room dying from a heart attack at age 35. His heart condition was an undetected Atherosclerotic heart disease, a condition that led to death of his father.

Player profile: Larry Cameron:
Larry Cameron played with the BC Lions and the Ottawa Rough Riders during 1975-1977. He was CFL Allstar in 1975 and Grey cup champion in 1976, . Following football he joined the American Wrestling Association, later training with Stu Hart in Calgary. He made his wrestling debut with Stampede Wrestling in 1985 as "Lethal" Larry Cameron. He won his first Pro Wrestling America's heavyweight champion in 1987. In 1989 he became Stampede North American Heavyweight Champion beating Davey Boy Smith. In 1990 he joined World Championship Wrestling.
During a 1993 match in Germany Cameron suffered a heart attack and died, he was 41 years old.

Player Profile: Mariet Ford played for the Ottawa Rough Riders, Saskatchewan Roughriders and Toronto Argonauts during the 1983-84 seasons. His CFL career was underwhelming playing a total of 9 games. It was his University days where he was involved in "The play" He was the player who made the final lateral during the University of California/ Stanford game before running through the Stanford band that had walked onto the field in a chaotic end to the game.
In 1997 he charged and convicted with the murder of his pregnant wife and 3 year old son, then setting the bodies on fire. His conviction was based on circumstantial evidence, no murder weapon, no DNA, no history of violence. His sentence 45 years to life. He was denied parole in 2024.

Player Profile: Rohan Marley, son of reggae artist Bob Marley played 7 games for the Ottawa Rough Riders during the 1995 season. In 2009 Marley co-founded Marley Coffee. He played college football at the University of Miami as a linebacker.
