Hello
Natural Luge is back in Ottawa!
Ontario Luge Association is looking for youths aged 12 - 16 interested in taking their tobogganing skills to the next level. Once we have a good foundation of hard-packed snow at local tobogganing hills, we will run learn-to-luge sessions.
The participants will learn how to brake, turn left and right, and the proper position on the sled. The coach is a former national luge team member and current Natural Luge coach for Canada.
Ideal clothing for this is warm tight-fitting clothing; gloves are best, and warm low-cut boots are recommended but not necessary. Sleds will be provided.
HELMETS are always mandatory while on the hill.
If you are interested and want to be put on an email list for upcoming times, please email [email protected].
There is a $10.00 membership fee to be part of the Ontario Luge Association, which helps offset the insurance costs. This will include a one-hour learn-to-luge session. If you are interested in additional sessions, you can rent a sled for $5.00 at an upcoming learn to luge session.
All sessions are weather dependent and will be held during the morning when hills are the least busy.
Those individuals that participate will be sent an email with a membership form to complete for each person and a waiver form that will be signed by a parent or guardian.
Participants will be expected to listen to the coach and be able to carry their sled back up the hill in a safe manner.
