The Intercultural Pan-Canadian Green Buildings and Retrofits Training Project at OCISO is accepting participants for its 100% funded training program. This opportunity provides specialized training for individuals looking to enter Canada's growing green economy.

✅ 5-week self-paced online training
✅ Green Buildings and Retrofits Micro credential & Associate Certificate from Assiniboine College
✅ Learn energy analysis, building retrofits, sustainability fundamentals, safety, and compliance
✅ Opportunity for a 4-week practicum or employment placement
✅ Additional wrap-around supports available, including job search assistance, career exploration, transportation, dependent care, and more

Eligibility:
• Age 18+
• Ontario resident
• Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Person granted refugee status
• Legally entitled to work in Canada
• Self-identifying as a newcomer, Indigenous person, woman, racialized person, Black Canadian, 2SLGBTQI+, or person with a disability

Recruiting Participants for the RAISE Program

Are you a refugee or immigrant looking to build a career in Canada?

The Refugee and Immigrant Supports to Employment (RAISE) Program at The Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization - OCISO helps participants, with less advanced language proficiency develop the skills, confidence, and connections needed to secure and maintain employment in sectors such as trades, construction, hospitality, sales and service, healthcare support, childcare, and manufacturing.

Participants receive:
✅ One-on-one employment counselling
✅ Resume development support
✅ Interview preparation and coaching
✅ Job readiness and workplace safety training
✅ Employer introductions and job placement assistance
✅ Pre- and post-employment support to help achieve long-term career success

Eligibility Requirements
Permanent Residents of Canada, Convention Refugees or Protected Persons
Primary or Secondary education level
Canadian English Language Benchmark (CLB) 3–5
Open Work Permit and legally permitted to work in Canada
Resident of Ottawa, ON
Experience or interest in trades, hospitality, sales and service, and healthcare support sectors
