This film is captivating and moving. Depicting the outrigger canoe culture from a whitewater rafting perspective. Paddlers who are just as passionate, yet unfamiliar to Wa'a, commit themselves to dive deep into new waters, from the mountains to open ocean. Follow their journey and gain a new perspective, perhaps rekindle your love for the canoe and the water.

200m knock-out races will be held in the following disciplines/divisions, based on registration:


OC1 (open, women)
OC2 (open, women, mixed)
OC6 (open, women, mixed)
SUP Men's (max length 14'6")
SUP Women's (max length 12'6")
Surf Ski Men's (max length 6.45 m)
Surf Ski Women's (max length 6.45 m)


If you're not familiar with paddling lingo, OC stands for Outrigger Canoe and SUP stands for Stand Up Paddle Boarding.


When: Thursday, June 20th
Location: Mooney's Bay Park, beach launch
Start time: 5:00pm
Pre-Race Meeting: 4:30pm in Paddler’s Paradise
Registration Fee: $30 (plus HST)
Registration Deadline: Monday, June 17th at 4PM
Awards Ceremony: Paddler’s Paradise immediately following the races
Parking access to tiered lot for Thursday only
PFDs are mandatory and can be supplied if required.
