Our team had an exceptional opportunity to learn at Quantum Farm for Saturday’s lunging clinic- so many great takeaways and lots of fun along the way! Special thanks to Casey and Holly for their hospitality and their wisdom. We will be back💜

A few moments with , Adele (grey) and Ria (bay).

Adele is loving her semi-retired life and makes sure Heather doesn’t forget her carrots. Ria is a new partnership and the youngest in the barn now. She is being such a good girl and adapting well to life as a hunter.

Welcome to the family, Clousson! 🤍🐴

We’re so excited to officially welcome Clousson to the Oakdale Equestrian barn family! This handsome guy made the long journey all the way from Germany to join us here in Canada, and he’s settling in beautifully.

We’re thrilled to see the start of this new partnership between Victoria and Clousson — the beginning of what we’re sure will be an amazing journey together.

Welcome home, Clousson! 🇨🇦✨

It’s with a heavy heart we had to say good bye yesterday to our very special Gamine AKA Gabby. Gabby was notoriously known for being reliable but ornery 🤣. She was one of the most intelligent horses I have ever worked with. She taught but tested each and every rider. I am sure she would have taken on Ian Millar himself Lol. She had to have ear stuffies and watch out if you forgot to put them in or lost one. She always knew when you were vertically challenged because putting them in was quite a task. She only enjoyed affection if there was a treat involved then she wore her pretty face.
As every professional knows there is always that one special horse in your career and for me she was one of them. We knew each other so well. She knew not to test me and I her. She was a get on and go model. Rare. One of a kind. She was the kind of horse that loved to show and once you stepped into that ring you always knew she was there for you. It was undeniable. She had a competitive spirit. We were never worried that she wouldn’t look after those students who had the opportunity to show such a great horse.
For those that had the privilege to own or lease Gabby she was a great friend to all. I think I speak for everyone that knew her that she has touched all of our hearts for life. She was the ultimate unicorn.
Gabby you are gone but will never be forgotten❤️.

Special thanks to our vet and good friend Maureen for her calm compassion and kindness.

Better late then never..
It’s a wrap!!!
We had a great time at Westar farms over the weekend for the OVPSC Bronze Championships and Derby day. We would like to congratulate all of our clients that participated. We are so proud of all you and your accomplishments. We are so lucky to have such a strong barn family that support each other no matter what level or height you jump we are on this learning journey together as a team💪. We want to thank Julie Lalonde for her How to train a dragon theme and all her creative costumes💜. Thanks to Caroline Hollingsworth and Heidi Bell for feeding us with their tasty treats. It’s always a pleasure to see you ladies. Special thanks to Jeff and Bridget McKessock for their hospitality, hard work, and always keeping their place beautiful for us to enjoy 😍.

What a year it’s been for the Oakdale show team, our staff, parents, and all the families who make this community so special. We had fun—lots of it—and to top it all off, we welcomed a new addition to the barn family. The next generation of equestrians is here and growing!

A huge thank you to WCP and their crews for keeping these grounds in such beautiful condition. It truly is a dream to have a place like this in Ottawa for horse shows, events and competitions.

We would also like to congratulate every rider in the THJA for your dedication and passion for the sport. You are the reason we continue to push ourselves year after year.

Thank you all for the memories, laughter, and camaraderie. We can’t wait to do it all again next season!

Until then, here are a few carousels featuring the Oakdale team and friends during this year’s Trillium Championships.

What was your favourite moment from this year’s show season?
