When I started with Terry, my body was pretty messed up. I originally injured my knee in high school, where I tore my ACL. Since then I had 3 surgeries on the same knee for a recurring problem that we couldn’t seem to figure out. It is 12 years later and after preparing for a 4th surgery, a 3rd reconstruction of my ACL, I was told by my orthopaedic surgeon that there was no point in doing another reconstruction as he felt that I would probably be back within a few years with the same issue. My knee currently has completely shredded my ACL, I have worn through the cartilage in the joint, I have a slightly torn meniscus, I have bone bruising and bone spurs as well as severe osteoarthritis. And all at age 28. My surgeon told me to compare my knee issues with someone who is 60 years old and has terrible knee issue, with the exception that they would like to do a full replacement but would like to wait until I’m 60 to do it. So I was basically left on my own to figure out how to cope with my knee for quite a few years.
I was only able to work with Terry for about 4 months but wish I could have worked with him longer. He not only helped me with my knee and helped me to increase my daily functionality, such as relearning to work, but he also helped me accomplish some of my other fitness goals at the same time. He understood what I was going through and my pain has been far less after working with Terry than it was the previous few years. He was patient, knowledgeable and was there for me through many of the emotional ups and downs that come with dealing with difficult injuries like mine. What he did is hard for most people to understand but I truly feel like he was able to give me some of my life back. On top of that, in the 4 months I worked with him he helped me to lose 30 lbs of body fat and gain 10 lbs of muscle. I look fantastic, feel fantastic and am almost down to the same weight I was when I finished high school.
