A little glimpse into a week at Strive. 💛
🥋 At the Warrior’s Den, our kids, teen/adult and ladies karate programs are back, along with ladies kickboxing. Most classes are full or close to it, and I’m intentionally keeping our groups small.
Yes, we train martial arts, but the deeper work is learning to know yourself. Building confidence in who you are. Connecting with yourself and others. Stepping outside your comfort zone and discovering your own strength.
That same work looked different in other spaces this week.
I worked one on one with an older adult, using movement and mindset to help her recognize what is still possible and build greater confidence in herself and her body.
At Acton Academy Lanark, I loved watching the kids embrace something new, take risks and step outside their comfort zones. There is something special about a community where kids feel safe to show up as themselves and challenge themselves.
And I’m preparing to return to Child In Mind for another Therapeutic Martial Arts program, using movement and martial arts to support self regulation, confidence and connection.
Different ages. Different spaces. Different needs.
But the heart of the work is the same.
Know yourself. Connect with yourself. Trust yourself. Challenge yourself.
And step into your own power. 💛🥋
