We loved Lachine!

Year after year, this regatta is a great start to the racing season!

ORC athletes ❤️ the Lachine Canal Challenge. The last bridge, the finish area and the ramp. It’s such a wonderfully unique race!

Thanks for a great season opener 🌞

There is something powerful about being in a boat together.

This year, the Ottawa Rowing Club is launching its first Survivor Rowing team as part of the global Survivor Rowing Network. We are proud to join clubs around the world that support physical, emotional, and social recovery after cancer through the sport of rowing.

Rooted in healing, hope, and community, the program is open to people with all cancer diagnoses.

💫 FREE entry (for the first 12 registrants) into ORC’s Adult Rowing League
💫 Beginner-friendly, no rowing experience required
💫 Team-focused, supportive, and fun
💫 Support persons welcome if space allows
💫 Season fees fully waived for survivors

Rowing is a low-impact, full-body sport that builds strength, confidence, connection, and resilience — all while being outdoors on the water with a team beside you.

This is not about competition. It’s about community.

Today we celebrate the women who power the Ottawa Rowing Club.

At ORC, 63% of our members are women. Together, they shape the future of our sport and our community.

Athletes. Coaches. Volunteers. Leaders.

They show up early. They push each other forward. They make our club stronger every day.

Happy International Women’s Day. 💜

While Ottawa was wrapped in ice and snow, a crew of ORC’s Masters Athletes traded shovels for oars, and headed to Italy for a week of unforgettable training on Lake Sabaudia. 🇮🇹

ORC’s rowers shared the water with National Team athletes from Ukraine, Poland, Italy, Austria, plus a fleet of lightning-fast canoes and kayaks. The camp delivered world-class inspiration at every stroke. Some of the rowers who “whizzed by” each day may well be Olympic names we’re cheering for in 2028.

Under the guidance of ORC Head and , ORC athletes refined technique session by session, and rediscovered their power.

More than sunshine and smooth water, the week offered connection: swapping stories of clubs, regattas and training philosophies from around the world. New friendships formed. Future meet-ups planned.

From the mighty Ottawa River to Sabaudia, this is what community, courage and curiosity look like.
