Yesterday we had rank tests at Krav Maga Ottawa- congrats to our new G2 Instructors Saki and Tessa and to our new P2 and P4 students! Our standards are very high at KMO which is why we are above the crowd and our students stepped up to the challenge. Thanks to Jan, Waldemar and Michael for the help!

Confidence comes from knowing what to do and having practiced it enough to trust your response. Krav Maga gives you that reliability through structured training.
Over time, you develop skills that feel natural, allowing you to move through situations with greater control and confidence.

I insisted of taking this pic last week-end: Eyal, the source, Imi’s heir - myself, a second generation Instructor closer to retirement than to my humble beginnings, and in the middle Tessa, 17, the new generation, the future of Krav Maga. It’s all about passing the torch, the transfer of knowledge…

Krav Maga challenges you in ways that build both physical and mental resilience. You learn how to stay focused, adapt, and keep going even when things get difficult.
That resilience becomes part of who you are, helping you handle challenges both inside and outside of training.

Last week-end, Krav Maga Ottawa hosted Eyal Yanilov for three days of Instructors Update (16 hours Friday to Sunday). We had participants from various KM organizations in Canada and the US.
It was honestly the most fun I had in a long time! As Head Instructor I don’t get to train often and this was both intense and fascinating. Krav Maga is an open system and Eyal drives this point home very effectively by providing many variations and adaptations to each problems and solutions. Even as a seasoned Expert with decades of experience, I always get invaluable insights from Eyal that make me even better at what I do. I have no doubt that every participant felt lifted up and enriched by the experience.
The best part of the weekend was perhaps the atmosphere of camaraderie and the sheer fun we all had! Every question was answered in depth and taken seriously (and we had many!) with open mindedness and clarity.
I want to express my deep gratitude to Eyal for his guidance during this well structured course. I also want to thank my training partners Nidhal, Simon and Michael and everyone else in the course, also a big thank you to Waldemar for helping with the transportation between venues and logistics.
I missed wearing “Krav Maga make up” 😂 and I got my share of it!
Eyal Yanilov will be back to Ottawa!
More pics and videos to come soon!

Self-defense is not just physical. Understanding how violence develops and how people behave under stress gives you an advantage before anything happens.
This deeper understanding helps you make better decisions and stay in control during unpredictable situations.
