Your September Insight is here 🩵✨
D E E P • E X H A L E 🌬️ RESTORATIVE YOGA
Let’s talk restorative.
Yogi Jen attended her first restorative yoga practice here in Grey/Bruce about 15 years ago. It became one of those practices you make room for in your calendar, as the benefits are truly incomparable to any other style of class, with an emphasis on recovery, and to help the body and mind relax.
A restorative practice:
✨reduces stress and anxiety
✨activates the parasympathetic nervous system
✨helps reduce cortisol levels
✨improves sleep (one restorative class is the equivalent of four hours of deep sleep)
✨supports hearth help
✨relieves muscle tension
✨helps with chronic pain
…the list goes on.
Who benefits from DEEP EXHALE?
Every body, but specifically those experiencing high stress or fatigue, athletes needing recovery, those recovering from illness, or anyone needing to tune into your ‘rest and restore’ nervous system.
DEEP EXHALE is now bookable for Friday September 25 at 7:00pm. What to expect? A fully supported practice, a boutique class size (maximum 5 students), gentle breath awareness, and an extended final relaxation that leaves you grounded, replenished, and restored. Suitable for every body in every season of life.

YIN YOGA ☯️
I have a precious passion for yin yoga, making it one of my favourite classes to lead. I’ve curated a comforting practice that draws on the major principles of yin philosophy AND science. Let’s talk about it:
Yin yoga draws from the eastern Taoist Yin/Yang symbol ☯️. Yang, the left side, is loud, energetic, bright, and warm; its counterpart Yin, on the right side, is quiet, still, dark, and cool.
Yin yoga envelopes all of these properties in its practice. We favour the right side body first. The playlist is quiet and calm, we hold poses in stillness, the room is dark and cool. This allows us to fully settle into our bodies and the shapes we create.
Here’s the fun part: these properties scientifically aid our bodies in bringing health to our physiological systems:
Nervous system
Respiratory system
Musculoskeletal system
Circulatory system
The calm and quiet allows our systems to regulate. The dark allows our sensory system to focus on our body. The cool allows our muscles to stay relaxed so the focus can shift to our connective tissues - fascia, tendons, ligaments.
All of this amazing work in one practice! And all you have to do as a student is show up, be still, find calm and restoration.
If this sounds like something you need, August Yin is now bookable for Friday the 28th at 7:00pm. Are you in for Yin? I hope to see you 🥰

Summers fly by, don’t they? As this month comes to a close, I encourage you to notice what fills your cup. To slow down just enough to notice the little things. 🪴
I’m grateful for all of this luxurious sunshine. For time spent by the water, for quiet mornings, for laughter and friendship with good people. ☀️
Gratitude doesn’t have to be reserved for big milestones; sometimes it can be found in a deep breath, a beautiful sunset, a breezy yoga practice. 🧘♀️
As Summer continues, I encourage you to fill your cup - with the little things.

Ps - What is one thing you’re grateful for today?
