Congratulations to all of our athletes who completed in this years Newfoundland & Labrador Jujitsu Championships!!

We had 7 athletes competing this year.
Dylan, Jonas, and Alex B all had great performances in their first time competing on the ground. Both Dylan and Jonas walked away with Bronze while Alex missed the podium after facing Jonas in a fun match up.

Kieran had to move up to the adult division with no one to face him in his age group, and he had a great showing. He won his first match quickly but then lost 2 to just miss his shot at bronze.

Alex Tilley stepped on the mats after 3 months away from training and had a couple of competitive matches that didn't go his way.

Brady walked away with Bronze after losing his first match, that he was winning, by disqualification. He came back and finished his his way to the podium.

Dan left with silver that many of us thought would be gold but just missed it by referee decision.

Thank you to all of our athletes, friends, families for all of your hard work and support, and to the NLJJC for putting off this event and giving athletes from all over the province a chance to test their skills.

And a big shout out to all of the competitors who came and gave it their all!

Well that's a wrap for this year's WAKO National Championship!

While we all walked away with hardware, trips like this are about more than winning or losing.
This year we made new connections, bumped into old friends, gained valuable experience, learned from the success and mistakes of others (as well as our own), and grew closer through the process.

We are beyond proud of how well our athletes and coaches handle themselves in both wins and losses. Always showing respect to others and support to the rest of the team.

We're far from done and while our athletes will take some time to relax, we're excited to get back to work and continue to improve!

Day 2 is in the books and what a day it was!

Our athletes came out strong and had a great day

Peyton won Rogue our first WAKO National Championship!!
Then right after that Jonas rebounded after a loss to win his first WAKO National Championship!!
Caleb and Jacob were up next and they fought hard but it didn't go their way.
Then our last bout of this weekend was Ben who walked away with Rogues 3rd WAKO National Championship this year!!

Congratulations to all of our athletes! Everyone work so hard and poured their hearts out in the ring. We are so proud of all of you!!!!

Day 1 is done and we are on to Day 2!

All of our athletes gave it their all yesterday.
Kieran and Nicole fought hard and showed their will and determination but unfortunately it didn't go their way.
Ben rebounded from a loss in his first bout to win by stoppage in his 2nd.

2 silver medals, 1 bronze, and 1 moving on to the title today.

Our academy was also recognized as a top club by WAKO Canada!!

Today brings bouts for the rest of our athletes (Peyton, Jonas, Caleb, and Jacob)!

Rogue is ready for day 1 tomorrow!!
