ROUND 12 RECAP:

A tough day on the road for the Quins men against Balmy Beach, with both sides battling hard but coming up short.

2XV — 21–26
A tight contest that went down to the wire, with tries from Grenier, Sidhu, and Jeavons. Tommy Gemmell added three conversions.

1XV — 24–48
The 1XV battled throughout, with Schulz, Brown, and Cavan x2 finding the try line. Wyatt Brown added two conversions.

A tough result, but plenty to take forward as the Quins look ahead to the next challenge. 🃏🏉

Brantford Harlequins Mixed Ability Rugby: A First Year of Inclusion and Belonging

This year marked an exciting milestone for the Brantford Harlequins Rugby Club with the launch of its first Mixed Ability Rugby Program. It has been a wonderful example of how sport can bring people together and demonstrate that rugby truly can be a game for everyone.

The program provides an inclusive and supportive environment where individuals of all abilities can participate, learn new skills, build confidence and, most importantly, have fun. No previous rugby experience was required. Players are encouraged to participate at their own pace, with an emphasis on teamwork, friendship, respect and enjoyment.

What makes the first year particularly special is that it represents more than the introduction of a new rugby program. It reflects the values of the Harlequins and the broader rugby community—creating opportunities for people who may not otherwise have had a place on the field. Players, coaches, mentors, volunteers and families have all contributed to creating a culture where everyone is welcomed and valued.

The success of the inaugural season should be measured not only by what happens on the field, but by the friendships formed, confidence gained and opportunities created. The Harlequins have taken an important first step toward making rugby more accessible and inclusive in Brantford.

A big day at home for the Quins men as both XVs came away with wins over the Aurora Barbarians!

1XV: 46–36 W
A high-scoring battle from start to finish, with tries from Will Kelly x2, Kozi, Hoyle, Gus, and Schulz. Will Kelly added 5 conversions and 2 penalties from the tee.

2XV: 68–0 W
A dominant performance from the 2XV, with tries from a handful of different players. Luka Wicken led the way with 3, while Alex Muir followed close behind, putting 2 down on the day.

Two wins, plenty of points, and a strong Round 11 on home turf. 🏉🔥
