As the inaugural Junior Adventure Racing World Championship closes, we want to congratulate every athlete who stepped up to the start line and every person who helped make this historic event possible.

🚨 THE NEXT CHAPTER OF ADVENTURE RACING IN CANADA STARTS NOW.

We are proud to officially announce the launch of the Subaru Western Canada Adventure Racing Series - a bold new partnership created to grow the sport, support athletes and race directors, strengthen communities, and inspire more people to discover adventure racing.

Building on the incredible partnership formed during the 2025 Adventure Racing World Championships, Subaru Western Region and Expedition Canada are bringing five of Western Canada's premier adventure races together under one unified series:

🌲 Expedition Canada LITE – Kootenays, British Columbia
🌊 Mind Over Mountain Adventure Race – Comox, British Columbia
🧭 Swamp Donkey Adventure Race – Winnipeg, Manitoba
🏔️ Wild in YYC by Rocky Mountain Adventure Race – Calgary, Alberta
⛰️ Expedition Canada – Golden, British Columbia

Together, these events create a pathway for every adventurer - from those taking on their very first race to athletes preparing for expedition-length competition and beyond.

This is more than a sponsorship.

It is an investment in the future of adventure racing in Canada.

It is a commitment to the athletes, volunteers, communities, landscapes, and race organizers who make this sport so extraordinary.

Six years ago, we started with a simple idea.

What if Canada returned as one of the greatest adventure racing destinations in the world?

Since then, we've welcomed athletes from around the globe.

We've showcased incredible communities.

We've shared unforgettable stories.

We've built lifelong friendships.

And together, we've discovered places that remind us just how extraordinary this country really is.

Adventure racing has never been just about crossing a finish line.

It's about exploring places you've never been.

Meeting people you'll never forget.

Finding strength you didn't know you had.

And leaving every place just a little better than you found it.

We're incredibly proud of how far we've come...

But we're only getting started.

Tomorrow, we begin the next chapter.

Over the past few years, people have often asked me why I've invested so much into growing adventure racing.

The answer is simple.

I'm not an adventure racer. I'm a business owner, an adventurer, and a mom. Throughout my career, my passion has always been the same - to encourage people to explore the wild, build healthier communities, challenge themselves, and care for the incredible places we call home.

To me, adventure racing has never been just about the competition. It's about people discovering they are capable of more than they ever imagined. It's about teamwork, resilience, friendships, and creating a deeper connection with nature. Those are values worth investing in.

That's why I'm so excited about where this sport is headed. Across Canada, and around the world, we're seeing incredible momentum, more communities getting involved, more athletes stepping up to the start line, and more people discovering what adventure racing is all about.

This week marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Expedition Canada and for the sport. We've been working quietly behind the scenes with partners who share this vision, partners who believe in exploring further, embracing the unknown, and inspiring more Canadians to step outside and discover what waits beyond the next trail.

Because the greatest adventures aren't always found on the map...

Sometimes they're found when we choose to seek the trail and embrace the uncharted.

We can't wait to share what's coming.

Sometimes the biggest stories in sport are not about winning, they are about who you are when very few others would know the difference.

Team Subaru Expedition Canada raced an incredible weekend at Raid the Rockies, holding the lead right from day 1 through a close and hard-fought battle described as “some of the best racing I can ever remember.” Considering the teams battling it out, that is no small compliment.

On day 4, the team lost the lead by only minutes after race referees reviewed an earlier penalty to the team for a missing piece of mandatory gear.

The additional time penalty came because, when questioned by the referee, the team chose integrity over bending the truth to protect the lead.

They honored the rules of the sport, their teammates, and who they are as people and accepted the outcome with honesty, humility, and their integrity fully intact.

That is why we are so incredibly proud to have this team represent Subaru Expedition Canada. They raced hard. They raced with heart. And they reminded us why adventure racing is such a powerful sport.

People race for the challenge. People watch to see what is possible. People are drawn to the wild places these races move through. But what makes this sport truly special is what it reveals about us along the way - the athletes, humans, teammates, and friends we choose to be.

Ben and his team are some of the most admirable racers in the sport, and not because of a spot on a podium - but because they raced the way we teach our kids to play: fairly, honestly, and with heart.

Congratulations to Ben Kwiatkowski, Jasper Edge, Kiah Davidson, and James Galipeau on an outstanding race and an even greater example of sportsmanship.

To Subaru Canada, thank you for standing behind a team that represents not only strength, endurance, and adventure - but integrity in its truest form.

We are incredibly excited to officially announce Team Subaru Expedition Canada as they prepare to take on their first race under the Subaru banner at Raid the Rockies, starting today!
