I hope as many members as possible can attend. I’m really looking forward to meeting everyone, getting to know more of our members, and sharing my vision and ideas for the potential future of the club.

REGISTRATION AT THE AGM

Registration and payment will be available at the club from 5:00–7:00 PM before the AGM.
However, you don't have to wait until Tuesday night!

The office will be open Tuesday from 12:00–5:00 PM for anyone who would like to come down early to register or make their payment. The office will also be open for registration on weekdays from 10am to 4pm starting next Wednesday, I will have some evening options as well, times to be posted later.

PLEASE REGISTER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

LEAGUE & TEAM PLANNING

I’ll be starting to build the teams based on registrations received so far.
Last year’s teams will have preference to return to their same league. Our goal is 24 teams in each evening league while keeping the leagues balanced.

OCTOBER 1 DEADLINE

If your team wants to return, please register as soon as possible.

Only one member of your team needs to register to let me know your team is returning — the whole team does not need to register right away but it would be preferred.

After October 1, I’ll begin filling any remaining spaces with new teams and players.

Please register early to help secure your team’s spot!

ICE PREPARATION IS UNDERWAY!

The office will be closed Friday through Monday. The Ski swap meet is happening at the club this weekend if anyone wants to check it out.

There is a lot to get ready before we can start making ice, and I’ll be spending part of the weekend and Monday getting everything prepared for the refrigeration plant startup on Monday.

The goal is to start making ice next week and be ready for curling on October 1!

THE SEASON IS ALMOST HERE!

With registration underway, the AGM coming up, and ice preparation beginning, things are really starting to come together.

Our first event of the year is The Nufloors Cashspiel on October 7-11, more details coming soon!!!

I’m excited about what the future can bring for the Penticton Curling Club, and I’m looking forward to sharing some of those ideas with you at the AGM.

He’s arrived!!

Welcome Head Ice Technician Chris Jones!

This is great news. The CVCC is thrilled to welcome Chris Jones as our new Head Ice Technician. Chris grew up curling in the Comox Valley, and developed a lifelong passion for the sport from an early age—one that eventually led him into competitive play, club management, and ultimately the magic and craft of icemaking. With family in the Comox Valley, Chris is excited to be returning to his childhood home and reconnecting with the community that first introduced him to curling.

Chris joins us from the Penticton Curling Club, where he served as Manager and Chief Ice Technician since 2017. During his tenure, he earned Canada‑wide respect for producing consistent, championship‑quality ice and for elevating the club’s technical standards. He is a certified Competition Level 3 Icemaker, he has been part of the ice crew at eleven Curling Canada national and/or international events, BC provincials, and a host of pro tour events. His precision, deep technical knowledge, and commitment to excellence have made him one of BC’s most trusted ice technicians.

Beyond his club work, Chris is a mentor in Curl BC's Ice Technician Mentorship Program, helping train and support icemakers across the province. He teaches ice installations, rock & equipment maintenance, flooding, refrigeration, environmental challenges and the science behind creating great curling ice—expertise he now brings to our apprenticing ice staff and assistants here at the CVCC.

We’re excited to welcome Chris back to the Valley and look forward to the skill, professionalism, and passion he’ll bring to our ice. The heartiest of welcomes to Chris (and his wife Cathy!)

Hi All Penticton Curling Club Members,

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves. We are Kent and Della Bird, and we are excited to be joining the Penticton Curling Club as your new management team.

For the past 11 years, we have had the pleasure of managing the Abbotsford Curling Club, and we are looking forward to bringing our experience and enthusiasm to Penticton. Most importantly, we are looking forward to meeting all of you, getting to know the members, and becoming part of the Penticton curling community.
We especially want to recognize and thank Chris & Cathy Jones for helping us with the transition over the last few weeks. They are amazing people and their help has been extremely important in our introduction to the club.
Thank you both so very much !!!

A Message About the Current Situation

First and foremost, we hope everyone is staying safe during these difficult times, particularly with the Summerland fires and the extreme smoke conditions we have been experiencing. Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected, and we hope that everyone is able to stay safe and healthy.

League Registration Is Now Open

We are pleased to let everyone know that online registration is now open for all leagues.
If you are planning to curl this season, we would greatly appreciate it if you could register sooner rather than later. Having registrations completed early will allow us to start building the leagues and schedules as we get a better idea of how many teams we will have.
If your team knows that it will not be returning to a particular league this season, please email the office and let us know. This information will be very helpful as we plan the leagues and determine the number of teams we will be able to accommodate.
If you have any problems with online registration, don't worry! The office will be open beginning September 1 for members who would like to register in person or need assistance.

Office Hours & Payments

Beginning September 1, the office will be open on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
There will be some days when we are able to stay open later, and a schedule of office hours will be posted on the website so everyone will know when we are available.
We will also begin accepting payments on September 1.
Rather than having everyone wait until the AGM on September 15 to register and pay, we would greatly appreciate members coming into the club earlier whenever possible. This will help us get registrations organized and allow us to start building the leagues and schedules sooner.

NuFloors Men's Cashspiel – October 8–11, 2026

We are also excited to announce that the WCT NuFloors Men's Cashspiel will be taking place October 8–11, over Thanksgiving weekend.
This is an important event for the club, and we will have more information coming soon regarding volunteer opportunities and purchasing event passes. We will be looking for lots of support from our members to help make this a successful event, so please keep an eye out for more information.

Chris believes in giving the athletes the ice for the entire duration of their game (even extra ends), regardless of the additional work for him and his team, as curlers deserve respect from him too😊.

The winners of the 2025-26 PCC women’s league! These gals had a fantastic run this year, winning the A in Osoyoos and Summerland, the C in Penticton, and competing as a team in their first BC Seniors’ Provincials. Congrats!

The ladies league would like to thank team Pratt; Michelle, Nicole, Tarah and Shawna, for organizing and steering our Monday night ladies league, the last 2 years. Your dedication made our Monday nights organized and enjoyable!
