Jorge is Going to Nationals! Let’s Help Him Get There!
Exciting news, everyone! Our very own Jorge from the Peterborough Karate Club has punched, kicked, and kicked some more his way to qualifying for the 2025 Karate National Championships in beautiful British Columbia!

Not only is Jorge a key member of our Shintani National Team, but he’s also proudly representing Ontario as a member of the Provincial Team! How awesome is that?

To help with the expenses of this incredible journey, we’re hosting a fundraiser. Join us on Thursday, 20 March at the Mark Street United Church (90 Hunter Street East, Peterborough) for an evening of kumite drills (that’s karate speak for sparring practice, in case you didn’t know) and a pizza party!

Come out and show Jorge some support as he takes the next step toward the Nationals. Let’s give him a big boost before he competes against some of the top karatekas in the country!
And, speaking of the Nationals... here’s the lowdown:

The event will be held in the spectacular Richmond Olympic Oval in April 2025 – the first time in nearly a decade that British Columbia has hosted the Nationals. It’s the biggest event on the Canadian karate competition calendar, attracting over 600 of the best ka- ratekas from across the country. With four days of fierce kata and kumite action, it’s going to be a show- stopper!

So, come out, cheer loud, and help Jorge make his dream of competing at the Nationals a reality. We can’t wait to see you there!
