The City is developing a comprehensive 15-year
Transportation Safety Program aimed at substantially reducing traffic fatalities and serious injuries. The plan will guide how road safety improvements are prioritized and implemented in a coordinated, proactive, and sustainable way.
Building on previous initiatives such as the Transportation Master Plan, Neighbourhood Traffic Calming Policy, and speed limit reductions in school areas, the program will help shape safer streets and comfortable travel for all road users, including pedestrians, cyclists, transit users, and drivers.
The success of the TSP relies on meaningful input from the community - that’s YOU! Share your experiences with road user safety and identify high-risk locations through the mapping tool and survey available at

We have some big news to share! Our Executive Director, Mark Romeril, is moving on to pursue a new opportunity. He has accepted a sustainable transportation position at the City of Hamilton, starting in early July.
Mark has been Executive Director at B!KE since 2021. During that time, his leadership at the shop has helped us to weather a pandemic and shifting conditions in the cycling industry. Mark secured funding to expand our Kids Bike Build program and bring back the Youth-Earn-A-Bike program, where young people build and earn their own bike. Under Mark’s leadership, the team at B!KE has continued to offer bike repair and cycling education in an accessible way, reaching people from all walks of life.
We are very sorry to see Mark go. He has been a solid leader, an engaged member of the community, and a good friend. But we congratulate and support him on this new adventure. We hope you will join us in wishing Mark the very best as he moves into his new position.
But also… This means we are now looking for a new Executive Director to guide our community bike shop!
Do you know someone who would love this job? Follow the link in our bio to apply!
We are grateful for your continued support of B!KE and biking in Peterborough.
