Too soon to talk all things Winter? We think not! Never too early to talk about B!KE's Winter Wheels program.

For the tenth year, B!KE’s Winter Wheels program will provide aspiring cold-weather riders with equipment and support to cycle through the winter.

This year there are two streams to Winter Wheels: the Get Equipped and Ride (GEAR) program and the Community Engagement Program (CEP). Head over to our online website to find out more. Or come by the shop for more info in person.

Starting Tuesday, Sept. 22nd, Winter Wheels applications open with a registration link on our website. ❄

🚲 Yesterday we gave away bikes! A collaborative event with and us here at OPIRG PTBO.

This one is special because it gives people an alternative way to get around. But what I've also noticed is that biking is a great way to connect to community, a stop at an intersection can bloom into a conversation, you can say hello to a fellow biker passing by, and with a membership from Community Bike Shop you can learn to keep your bike running yourself.

A very special thank you to Sunny and Anne, who came to Sadleir House to help facilitate the giveaway.

Didn't get a bike this time? Keep an eye out for OPIRG's future events. Dis-Orientation Week 2026 has been so much fun so far, and we're looking forward to seeing you all on the bikes around the city. 💛

Film Night and Shop Tour this Tuesday September 15 night! From 6:00pm to 8:00pm.

Two wheels, a few short films, some snacks, and good conversation. Join us for an evening of short films and documentaries exploring bikes, cycling, community, and the many ways people move through a city.

ALL BIKES ASSIGNED! New riders out & about!

FREE BIKE GIVEAWAY!! Part of Trent's Dis-Orientation Week.

OPIRG + B!KE have teamed up and are giving away 16 free bikes—10 for Trent students and 6 for community members. OPIRG Peterborough and B!KE love getting more people riding around Nogojiwanong.

The giveaway takes place on Tuesday September 15, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Sadleir House parking lot.

This giveaway is specifically for those who currently do not have access to a bike and cannot reasonably afford to purchase one. Bikes will be matched on rider height and fit as best as we are able.

Let's Bike events in Apsley on September 16th (3:30 - 6:30 PM), and Buckhorn on the 17th (3 - 7 PM). Volunteers will perform ABC checks (and effect simple, safety-focused repairs if necessary) on kids bikes before they are allowed to proceed onto Green Up 's bike obstacle course.
