Spencer-Walt Scores OSCAAR Hot Rod ACC Victory; Hawn Crowned Champion
PETERBOROUGH, Ontario --- Taking the green flag in fifth, Rick Spencer-Walt wasted no time moving his way through the field en route to winning the JRS Auctions OSCAAR Hot Rod Autumn Colours Classic feature at Peterborough Speedway.
Meanwhile, despite being involved in an incident, Tyler Hawn rebounded for a top-five to secure his fifth career series championship.
Rick Spencer-Walt utilized his starting spot on the inside row to move his way up into third in the opening laps. He then wasted no time taking over second, followed by a pass on Rob Bromley for the lead on Lap 12. Spencer-Walt then paced the remaining laps en route to visiting McColl Racing Enterprises.
Rob Bromley held on for a second-place finish despite being heavily challenged by Amanda Balson and Steve Book both in the last 10 laps. It marks a one-two finish for the Bromley Automotive teammates.
Tyler Hawn took the green flag just inside the top-10, and was making his way forward when he got caught up in an accident with Dan Archibald and Cory McAllister on Lap 19. The Hawn Motorsports team quickly made repairs on pit road, with Hawn climbing his way back to fifth for the championship.
Luke Gignac put together one of his best performances of the season in sixth ahead of Dan Archibald, Paul Bogensberger Jr., Brian Wilson, and Ryan Cowan. Cowan has announced he will be taking the 2025 season off to focus on other endeavors.
Thomas Wunsch got some damage in the aforementioned incident, rebounding for 11th, in front of Connor Ellis, Matt Spry, Adrian Foster, Rob Cousineau, Kenny McNicol Jr., Hailey McNicol, Tim Kirby, Cory Halburt, and Nathan Dettweier.
Cory McAllister wound up 11th after the contact with Archibald going into turn three, followed by Trevor Thompson, John Lavelle, and Nick Clarke.
Bromley Automotive heat wins went to Steve Book, Rick Spencer-Walt, Kenny McNicol Jr., Trevor Thompson, Rob Bromley, and Cory McAllister.
