💥Petty Season Finale Recap💥
This past Friday, we competed in the Night of Destruction event at Petty International Raceway, which was also our season points finale. We were only 3 points ahead of the 66 car for 2nd place, so we ideally needed to beat them or at least run right behind them in the feature.
We weren’t even sure if our driver was going to be able to make the race after it was pushed up to Friday night due to non racing commitments, but luckily everything worked out and he was able to get there on time.
The event format was shortened which meant we only got a 10 minute practice, and then it was straight to features. In practice we bolted on a brand new left rear tire which wasn’t exactly ideal but we had no time to get any laps on it to break it in before this event. The car was a bit loose in practice, but still manageable.
In the feature race, we lined up 5th right behind the 66. Off the start we got around 1 car but got passed by another car which left us still 5th. After quite a few laps of good hard battling for 4th on the outside of another car, we were able to get by and started to pull away from 5th and 6th. We also started making good ground on 2nd and 3rd. The car was really hooked up for about 10 laps and we were on pace to be batting the 2nd and 3rd place cars by the end of the race.
Unfortunately, with about 7 laps to go, we cut a left front tire, which caused a bad push and in the last few closing laps, it was completely flat making the car basically un drivable. 5th and 6th were able to get back by, but we still managed to limp the car home in 6th place. Not exactly how we’re hoping to end off the season, but that’s just been its luck this year.
With the 66 car finishing in 3rd, and us finishing 6th, that ties us up in points to end out the year. We’re not sure yet what metric they’ll use to break the tie, but to even be battling for 2nd place in points after the year we’ve had is incredible.
This race marks the end of our 2026 season at Petty but it’s not the end of our race season yet, we are planning on getting 1 more race in before the year is over so stay tuned for details on that.
Again, a huge thanks to everyone that makes this possible.

And a special thanks to Lewis racing #61, Wayne, and Marcel Comeau for helping to prepare the car as we had no time once the race got moved up.
